  1. Wow you guys are awesome! Spot on with the help, like always! I do appreciate. Thanks for all the info JFP and thanks for the PDF docs crwarren. Im going to start this job tonight. How do you go about pressure testing the cooler JFP or Ahsai..Ive never performed a pressure test..By the way my car is a 6 speed manual. Again thanks guys

  2. Hello all. Its been awhile. I have the dreaded chocolate milkshake in the coolant reservoir. I've had recently lost  a quart or two of oil. There's no coolant on the oil dipstick (looks great). Car temp is steady at 190 degrees. I'm going to start wit the oil cooler. It looks like a simple job. I haven't taken a look as of yet (I'm at work). I did a search but I didn't see anything. Anyone have any suggestions? Torque specs? Parts needed? I really would appreciate any info. Going to get started on this when I get home.  I have an 2002 Boxster S. Thanks.

  3. Hello all. I have the dreaded codes P0410 and P1411. I plan to track down the problem in the secondary air system. My question to those in the know..Can a problem in the secondary air system result in a lost of power? Thanks!

Side note: I do hear the the secondary pump come on when the car runs great. When check engine light comes on (as it has done several times in the past when I cleared the codes) shortly after start up, I don't hear the secondary air pump come on. The car idles rough with higher rpms as well. Can the fuse for the secondary air pump go bad gradually?

  4. Hello all..I know this is a delayed response but I wanted to follow up on my post. I was able to get into the rear trunk and repair both the emergency cable release and the inside car/key fob release cable by entering an opening on the left side by the taillight. I used ferrules, wire and a crimping tool to make a new emergency cable and attached an extenstion to the existing frayed and snapped inside/key fob cable. I replied with pics to others on another board who help me out. Its a long post so I hope its ok to post the link:

  5. Hey Guys,

Well I've been coming into some difficulty in getting the damage clutch line disassembled. The end of the line (part 9) isn't threaded, it seems it just snaps in although you can turn the other end with 15mm wrench (part 12). Does it just snap out with force?? The diagram is from a 996 but basically the same. Does anyone have any suggestions on how this disassembles? I'm going to try and get a pic. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

  6. Hello All,

Yesterday my clutch stuck to the floor and I had to have the car towed. Jack the car up and there was a leak in the clutch line right under the driver side. The line extends up into the right wheel well. Just a few questions. Is this line difficult to replace? Should I bleed the entire system again?? (Hope not ) The fluid in the reservoir was just below minimum...Any help or input would be appreciated. Thanks!

  7. If you want sound try the Evo intake along with the right muffler..I have the GHL..The combination is spine tingling and pretty mean..Sounds absolutely Porsche.I havent heard much about a Borla muffler on a Boxster...I know exactly what sound your talking about with the VW VR6 engine. I had a few VWs (GTI, Corrado). One of the sweetest sounding 6 cylinders I've heard but believe me, your Boxster flat 6 engine with intake and the right exhaust beats it.

  8. Hey guys..Thanks for the response!

Well initially I did clean the intake, throttle body and the MAF...As far as the special grease, I asked one of the guys at Sunset Porsche about it and he said I didn't need it , just use engine oil. I guess I'll clean out the throttle body, intake and reinstall the AOS with new grease. I attached a pic showing the O ring..It seem to come out a bit. This O ring should be totally pushed in, correct?? Again, thanks guys..

  9. Hello All,

I recently change my AOS about two weeks ago and the car was driving sweet. No smoke and the performance was on par. As of yesterday I saw some smoke and the car doesn't seem to drive as well..Slightly. Today I see a heavier smoke cloud on initial start up. When I did the install I had lots of difficulty getting the small O ring on the bottom of the AOS to slide into the block. I lubricated it with engine oil. I got it in a far as I could but I visually could see it protruding outward.Today I inspected the bottom O ring and it seems to have come out just a bit more. Is this the source of my problem or could it be something else? If so, can anyone give me any tips to securely get it in??? I tried extensively and couldn't get it anymore than I did cause of the lack of space. Is there a better lubrication I can use? Anyone have a pic of showing the O ring properly installed? Any tips would be super appreciated!

PS: I tried to take a pic, but my camera is acting up! :(

  10. Hello all..

I've been searching on replacing my AOS and I'm a bit confused on what parts are mandatory in replacing. I've check out the Pelican parts website and it seems all parts are sold separately. Can anyone chime in and steer me in the right direction?? :help: I have a 02 S. Any help is appreciated!

  11. Loren, you have me thinking about the whole ABS issue..

When I did the initial flush and the pedal felt very spongy, I could actually hear air coming from somewhere. :( Can you give me some insight what that possibly was??? Any visual signs that I can see if the ABS was effected? Thanks!

There are some other issues here - have you checked the brake booster for damage due to water? or you could have a leaking (internally) master cylinder.

What were the brakes like before the new pads? (Let's try to rule out possibilities)

Well there were no issues before the new pads and rotors.

In my initial, botched brake flush the reservoir overflowed somehow. I think the cap wasn't too secure. There was a significant amount of brake fluid that drained to the trunk. I'm not positive if it came from another area. When I checked yesterday, I disconnected an electrical connection from the bottom of the reservoir and it was drenched in brake fluid (I guess from the overflow). I just wipe it off. Should I clean it with something? I attach a picture of the fluid dripping from the electrical connection. Other than that, I'm low on fluid but over the min(more fluid on the way). I didn't see anything else out of place or leaking..
