  1. Turn signals do run through the flasher switch.

Push the oval button so that the button sticks out, like you do to turn on the flashers. Look at the sides of the button and you will see a slot. Stick a small screwdriver in one of the slots and pry the button off. Behind the button is the switch.

There is a tab on each side of the switch. Squeeze the tabs with you finger and thumb and at the same time you pull on the white part of the switch with needle nose pliers.

Buy the part as a 996 part. If you buy it as a 986 part you also get the button, so it cost more. If you buy it as a 996 part you get just the switch. Never figured out why Porsche does this.

    Wow,

    Thanks much!

  2. Hi, is there any reason you got the pressed-type Dansk muffler instead of the smooth style? I have been thinking of adding a Dansk muffler to my 2.7L 2000 Boxster. Also, what do you think of the sound compared to the stock muffler, thanks,

    Ed

I've noticed that my car is sounding better and better as time goes on. The muffler definitely requires a break-in period.

  3. I Recently had the new Dansk sport muffler with the twin tips installed on my 02 2.7 liter Boxster.

The problem was that the openings to the Dansk muffler were about 1.5 mm too large for the pipes coming off the catalytic converters. This required the installation of bushings and added several extra hours (and $$$) to the cost of the installation.

I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem?

The Dansk distributor DPS Motorsports told me that this was a bolt-on, and that he had never heard of anyone having these issues before.

Can anyone share their Dansk story with me?

  4. :( I own a 2002 986 that suddenly developed a problem with the directional signals. When I go to use the directionals, the four-way flashers come on instead. It does not matter if it is right or left, same results.

    Help!

Is this a simple fix like a flasher module?

Thanks, I'll give it a shot.

As it turned out the problem was with the Hazard Flasher switch. Jiggleing it solved the problem

  7. Just bought a sport exhaust on E-bay. The brand name is unknown but it came off of a '98 and it appears to be pretty snazzy. Looking to get it installed on my '02 2.7 here in the Bay Area, can anyone recommend a shop with experience? I live in Pacifica, so somewhere on the Peninsula would be best.

    Thanks in advance,

    Marcus
