My oil topup hose has come off in my hands, about 3inchs down from the cap. I take it this is not supposed to happen?
-
Are these standard cats or aftermarket? The back boxes are after market but not sure on these. Confirmation would be a great help :D

I wouldn't recommend it. There might be a big bang.
If you hold the car in first gear with your left foot on the brake and build the revs up a little (but not excessively), when you release the brake and hit the gas it will take off like a scalded cat. Handy at a traffic light Grand Prix. Takes a bit of practice, so try it out somewhere safe first.
Lol i thought i would check first. The above is how i have been doing it. Same as the old RS6 i had. I think i will stick to doing full launches in my 700bhp Evo :D

Can you launch a Tiptronic like a manual? Hold the revs at 4k in neutral and than select drive and go?
-
Might want to replace some of those rusty spring clamps because those can fail without warning once they get to that state. The hoses look original, and may be due for replacement as well.
The box itself drives spot on and it's done 5k since the service where they picked up the leak. I only found this out when i gave them a call after spotting the above.

Replace the Tiptronic oil pan gasket, it will solve your problem. Also a good opportunity to change the filter and ATF fluid.
You think that's all it is?
Would be nice as the box won't need to be removed.

There is no oil leaking on the floor so i would never have spotted this but i popped my head under and this is what i found!
Looks like the gearbox (tip) Any ideas what it is?? Car runs 110% spot on and no issues with the box. Looks like the oil has been there for some time.
Great first time post lol!
