Not a pro at this but I think the nail polish remover that works is acetone, and it smudges the color on leather. Actually this is what the guy used at the shop and the discoloration wasn't as terrible as I thought it might be, but quite noticeable. The real value was the paint match which they do on all their jobs by eye - apparently even if you order a kit they make you send in a sample for the match.

I'm a new forum member who recently picked up an '04 Boxster, non-S, manual, and am totally thrilled with it. Really like nothing I've ever had before. I got it with a Krazy Glue smear on the seat and tried everything to get it out Fine scraping, petrolatum, even tried liquid nitrogen(!) All the detailers in town said impossible to get out, no solution. Even in a big city like SF, most of the leather shops that purport to be good are hacks. And I couldn't find a solution, even on this site Even the Porsche dealers in town had no answers. Then this famous oddball upholstery guy in SF turned me on this store in Hayward, CA http://www.advleather.com/ - he said they can do ANYTHING. I guess they're a sort of world-famous leather shop operating out of a tiny bin in Hayward. Long story short - they made it perfect (mostly the paint and coating after they acetoned it was really impressive), but they apparently do much harder repairs - hundreds of pics at their shop. if you're in northern Cali have to keep these guys in mind. Also they apparently ship kits that have amazing success with a cashback guarantee. -relieved
