  1. Hello, Anyone has summer and winter sets of wheels? I just installed winter tires from last year. They were working last year. But they don’t work this time. When I first installed them, I used Durametric to set up these TPMS. This time, I tried both Durametric and Foxwell

NT530 but no success. Does anyone have an experience like this? So I need a separate TPMS tool?

  2. Hello, I need help with my 1999 Carrera 4 with 70K miles. It was running fine last week.

I then decided to change motor oil and replace spark plugs. It was on a two post lift for a couple of days (though it shouldn't make a difference).

    Here are some observations:

    - engine cranks but does not start. No firing at all.

    - there is a high pitch noise when key is turned on. It seem to come from engine bay. (hopefully, it is the sound of fuel pump.) I also wondered if I should be smelling gas which there is none.

    - Durametric showed fault code under engine (something like secondary air system fault Porsche fault code 90 or something. It fault codes for both banks.) After erasing the code, they did not come back. However, the engine still doesn't start.

    - is there a fuse for ignition or fuel system?

    Please help me with this!!!

Here’s the fix for the Navi issue. Porsche sent an email out also with these instructions. Below.

I’ve seen battery protection come on after the car sat for a week. Maybe it shuts off features to conserve the battery.

Thank you for your input. This is useful to know. I may try this no expense fix first.

My 2011  cayenne turbo had a similar problem with the pcm would reboot and after I replaced the battery it has not done it.  I replaced the battery about 12 months ago.  Never got Battery protection warning though.

Thank you. Battery or fuse was my guess but I wasn't ready to drop down $400 battery not knowing other case studies.

  5. Hi

I just purchased a 2015 Cayenne Diesel. When I lock the car, it used to lock down AND made a chirping sound. After replacing a couple of fuses ("shuffling" as a matter of figuring out which fuse to replace), it stopped chirping. The door lock light comes on steady for several seconds then starts blinking. Thought it may be the "horn setting" but I can't find it in the manual. I suspect that one of the fuses I unplugged may have reset this setting? Does anyone know how to restore the original "lock and chirp" setting.

  6. Hello, I just returned to State side after ten years of living overseas. To jump into the winter here is Colorado, I need to get winter tires on my 1999 996 C4. Service manual shows the following as a starting point.

    1999 996 C4 tire spec.jpg

    My C4 has 225/40 R 18 for fronts and possibly 7.5J x 18 - 50 for wheel. Similarly 265/35 R 18 for rear and possibly 10 J x18  65 wheel. However, winter tire conversion may not be so easy. It seems to require 17 inch wheels: 205/50 R 17 89T M+S - 7Jxł7 - 55 for front. 225/45 R 17 90T M + S - 8.5J x 17 - 50. I haven't done anythig to brake caliper hoping that there wont be intrference with smaller radius. Any input or even insight into this is appreciated.

  7. Hello

I tried recoloring the worn part with a custom dye but it started to crack again after 3 years. It probably needs new covers (for Xmas project).

Also if anyone knows the name or color code of the tannish seat I would be grateful.

    Thank you in advance,

Talk to JoAnne at www.colorplus.com. You might be able to save your current leather.

Thank you for your suggestion. Actually I treated the seats using a dye from Colorplus three years ago but it started cracking lately. They've done a fantastic job of matching color. I wonder if I should have sprayed the color instead of brushing or used some treatment afterward. I also stored the car for a couple of years right after.
