  1. So like I mentioned in my previous post, I took delivery a few weeks ago of a CPO 2007 Boxster S, but am still a little dissapointed with the cosmetic condition of the car. I purchased sight unseen from an out of state dealer assuming that since it was CPO and since Porsche.com goes into such detail about the inspections that the CPO cars undergo both cosmetic and mechanical I felt comfortable with the purchase. When I got the car, there were the normal stone chips in the front (car has 10,100 miles on it so to be expected), but there are also a small dent in the front bumper cover at the edge of the the fog light that appears to be filled and re-sprayed (but noticable) 3 door ding type scratches on the passenger side door. These are not dings as much as just scratches. Also, a relatively long (2-3 inch) scratch along the top of the passenger side rear fender. 3 chips on each rear bumperette (have no idea how the previous owner managed those) and another scracth, in a zig zag pattern on the bumper cover abiyt 1 inch x 1 inch area... The chips appear to all be filled in with touch up paint but look to be repaired in a very ameture fassion. I am not sure if this is just me being picky, but I would have liked to have received the car in a little better conditions seeing as they went through so many "cosmetic inspections" Should I contact someone abut this??? thoughts??? Dan
  2. I do like the stock look and do not want to make any major changes but some things are done better in Europe. The clear side makers look much better IMO, especially on a silver car. And I want to thank Orient Express for the post on removing the US Airbag WARNING decals that for some reason have to be on both sides of the sun visors! The common rubbing alcohol worked flawlessly and did not damage the visor at all! Thanks again for that trick.
  3. I would, but I would like to enjoy the car for many years to come and I am afraid that the salt they use on the roads around here in the winter would do too much damage over time.
  4. Thanks for the welcome! I see you are from Canada and probably have the same winter storage problems that I will have being in the snowbelt of northern Ohio. I will keep it garaged and under cover w/ trickle charger, my question is about the oil changes. I have read other posts that you should store with fresh oil. Since the service intervals on the 987's is only 1 oil change every 2 years, would it still be recommended to change the oil before winter storage? Any thoughts on the subject would be appreciated. thanks! Dan
  5. I just took delivery of a 2007 987 Boxster S that was CPO with 10,200 miles 2 weeks ago. Artic Silver / Black leather with prefered package plus and power seats. I have already gotten the itch to accessorise and changed out the side markers for clear and of course got bumperplugs to remove the front license plate. I will be tackling the removal of the airbag warning stickers this weekend from the visors. Any other tips for easy mods that make big differences in either the way the car looks or drives? Thanks! Dan
