You are not alone - SAME PROBLEM HERE!
75% of the time I need to do it twice - but nearly all of the time it starts on the second attempt. I too got a new battery (none in the trunk either) with no difference.
Mine doesn't even crank.
I almost got used to it - but still very annoying, suggestion highly appreciated.

Conversion from 03 CS to 09 CT!

I have done the conversion as well, but with regular HID headlights. So, while I can't give you an answer I can tell you how I found out my connections: Take a volt meter and measure every contact from the connector while switching on the lights one by one. Next, take the headlight and use the continuity tester to find out where all the connections end up. Now just cut the plug and connect the cables acordingly.
I have a feeling the Xenon lights are more complicated and it might not work but wanted to shre it anyway.
