When I have had the loose feeling in the past, it has been attributed to tires that required replacing. Once I replaced tires, stability improved and problem went away.

Looks great! See you around Orlando!

Very bad idea to ever buy a "collectable" and turn it into a driver. In this case I would never even think about buying that car for that money.

Congrats! I agree with PhillipJ on not lowering the TT. Mine is standard ride height and I constantly scuff the front spoiler lip.
Your old 996 will not get much with 181K on the clock. Keep it or part it out over time.

This is a great deal on a car that you know the history of. I'm not surprised that the dealer lowball offered the tradein. This car is clearly worth low--mid thirties.

That's great news, congratulations!

Mobil 0-40 is fine for our weather in Florida on a lower mile Pcar. My independant suggests oil changes either at annually for cars that don't get driven much or at 8000 miles maximum for those that do.

There is an assembly that lifts the cowl up and out of the way to allow the convertible top to go up/down. That assembly linkage has most likely failed. I had mine fail recently and it is not a cheap repair to replace this entire unit. I think I spent over $1500.00

Fred-
Would I replace the C2 Cab with a TT Cab and drop down to one Pcar??? That's a great question! I think the answer would be yes if I could find the right car (I'm picky).
Here's my dilemma (if you can call it that)... I am a Cab guy and the smooth performance of the 996 is very satisfying but I prefer the widebody lines.
I love the TT, but make no mistake, the TT is not a car for the faint of heart. It's a blast to drive but it's very difficult to keep it at/around the speed limit. (it might be just me, but the TT brings out something primal in me!). I'm sure there will be some DE events in my future to help control my desires and keep me from being a frequent visitor in traffic court. In terms of engines, the TT motor is rock solid and that is very important to me as I like to keep/drive my cars vs. look at them, so something for you to think about there.
Until I reach closure on this personally, I just enjoy both of them! If you have a widebody C4 Cab, you might already have a great compromise vehicle there, so enjoy her!
good luck!

Fred- I have a '03-C2 cab and a '03-TT coupe and I can tell you they are completely different automobiles and as a result I cannot let either one of them go. I love the smooth performance and open air of the Cab (nothing like a Cab!), but the TT is a rocketship and really attracts attention! I know it's not financially prudent to keep both, but I just cannot pick which one I love best!

Looks great! You are going to love her!

Good morning everyone,
I just rolled over 60k miles and i am looking into getting my 60k mile major service done - I called over to my local porsche dealer and they quoted me $1200...that seems a little high to me for belts/filters/plugs - does that seem about right?...anyone know of any good local indy shops in the central florida area?
I usually like to get my service done at the dealership - but that just seems a bit pricey...
Thanks!
sorry - forgot to add its a 2000 911 carrera....
Give Don a call at Zotz Garage 407-678-6789, they do my work!

I went from an 03 C2 Tiptronic cab to an 03 996 TiptronicTurbo and there is no comparison between the two cars in performance. I agree that the C2 was a bit sluggish, but the Turbo is a beast (even in tiptronic). I know there are tiptronic haters out there, but I love mine!
