It looks pretty good..(You might have to check to see if the frame is bent.. it could be a write-off.). If it is secure it really doesnt look that bad.. do not purchase parts from the dealer unless you have to.. It will be costly because the part might have to be brought in from the germany plant.. junk yards on occasion do get porsches.. you will have to get a repair manual.. It's a car and DIY should be no probs, for alignment of headlights follow the manual and alignment of the front wheels should get done by a professional.

so you said it took two days to install. was it that difficult? any special equipment? or just screws and bolts, etc
No it was actually quite simple, I am an Aviation Technician, but that doesn't matter, as long as you follow directions and read the documents more than once to make sure no mistakes are made.
1st evening top removal, clean parts. install new top. not glued yet.
2nd evening glue top front and sides and let sit overnight ..done!
The following link is to remove the top, then proceed to top replacement with the link provided in the directions.

I have searched the forum and can't find an answer to my dilemma. My '02 S is proudly sporting a new GAHH top with a glass window.
My problem is that I had a rear speaker enclosure. My installer has informed me that the glass top prevents the installation of the speaker unit.
Any solutions or do i go without rear speakers.? Thanks for the help.
Nels
I am not sure that is entirely true. Which rear speaker unit are you referring to? Bose or standard 2 speaker kit? Do you have the rear compartment? or are you looking to replace the soft leather sport case?

I installed a GHAA Top with rear glass window on my 2001 Boxster. It took 2 evenings by myself but saved alot of cash. I installed everything and there are no problems because the window is actually smaller to fit in place behind the speaker unit. That is why your rear view is smaller that the OEM plastic rear window. I would suggest installing it, and make slow movements while stopping to check to make sure everything fits.. Good luck!

I have a 2001 Boxster.Ive read some of the issues regarding coolant leakage but not sure if thats my problem.. I had a oil seperator change reciently and not sure if there is an air blockage or if its a thermostat change required. I have a problem of coolant escaping through the discharge line when driving during hot days or long periods of driving. I was on vacation and it happened again, I noticed if the air conditioning was on there is no coolant leakage. What is my problem?
buying a damaged 2001 boxster?
