  1. Thank you both Loren and kbrandsma. Appreciate your help on this one. Note: I'm the original owner -- the 6 year warranty expired last Fall and the car is stored each winter. Therefore, this will be the first year that I'll be doing my own maintenance.!! Andry
  2. I have a 2007 997-1 coupe and would like to know if there's any requirement to lubricate any joints or other points under the car -- similar to what I have to do on my old muscle cars (i.e., steering components, etc.)? Thanks, Andry
  3. dphatch, Thanks for the tip. I'll look into it. Cheers, Andry
  4. Hi, Is there a way to program my C2 so that it beeps the horn when I lock the car. This would make it useful to ensure that the car is actually locked and alarmed when I walk away from it. I often turn around to see the light blink for positive confirmation, but sometimes I miss the short flash. Thanks in advance for any help. Andry
  5. Thanks guys! Appreciate the help. BTW, I just want to buy the unit and will install it myself. LA997 -- Have you had it installed yet? If so, any comments? If not, then please post comments once you get it installed. Thanks, Andry
  6. I've heard positive feedback regarding the Dension Gateway 500. I'd like to purchase one for my 2007 C2. Can anyone point me to a good dealer in the greater Los Angeles area. Much appreciated! Thanks in advance. Andry
  7. Loren, That's great help! I really appreciate your quick response. BTW, would you have a link or instructions to help me locate the current horns? Also, if I go with the air horn you suggested, do I need two or just one? Again, thanks! Andry
  8. Loren, Thanks for the quick reply. Can you recommend a good replacement (part number if possible) and if so, then where's a good place to buy them? Thanks in advance, Andry
  9. Hello, It seems that when I press the horn, only one frequency comes out as if only one of the two horns works. Has anyone experienced this problem? Is it easy to replace? Can someone point me to a service manual or provide a drawing (location, etc.). I would really appreciate your help. I have a 2007 997 C2. Thanks, Andry
  10. I often travel to the US and would like to purchase a mObridge unit for my 997 (2007 C2) equipped with PCM. What are the best stores to buy this unit? I'll be in the San Antonio, TX area and also San Diego/Los Angeles, CA area. Any good, reputable outfits that you've had experience with would help. Thanks in advance, Andry
  11. Winter is almost here and the sad part is that the Porsche will have to enter hibernation mode for the next few months. :( I've been storing my muscle car, so I know the basic drill, however, this will be the first year that I'll be storing my 997 C2. The vehicle will be stored in my unheated, but insulated garage. This is what I plan to do: - Hook-up an electronic battery trickle charger (CTek); - Fill up the gas tank to the max and add Stabil fuel stabalizer; - Inflate the 19" tires to 50psi. I was not planning on removing spark plugs, nor changing the oil. I will do that in the spring. Any recommendations or suggestions? All comments are welcome. Thanks in advance, Andry
  12. Thanks for taking the time to help me out! Now I know. :D Cheers,
  13. How can I find out? Is there a "menu" that I can access to find the version number? From all the web searching that I've done, I'm pretty sure that it's 2.X. Thanks for taking the time to answer.
  14. Does anybody know what the little miniature horizontal "tray" below the keypad is for? (Left side of PCM2). :help: When you press it, it slides out, and you can push it back in, but I have no idea what purpose it serves. Without a manual it's hard to figure out. Thanks for any clues...
  15. Sorry, the "Gremlins" were at work :( I think I'm in the right forum and I've edited my post (it's a 2007 C2). Please help. Thanks, Andry
  16. How do I find out the version of the PCM (NAV)? You might have guessed -- I'm new to this stuff so please understand my simple questions. Thanks, Andry 2007 C2, 6 speed
  17. Thanks for taking the time to reply. I'll have to search around. I wasn't expecting these to be expensive, but maybe it's like anything else "Porsche" related... :( Andry
  18. Hello! I'm new to this forum as I've just purchased my first Porsche 911. It's a 2007 model and did not come with either the Radio nor Nav manuals. Where can I find those? Thanks, Andry
