  1. One more data point...

2006 CS.  Battery changed last month.  Spontaneous "System Error..." message.  Lost Nav, Amp, Phone.  Tooki Satellite Radio and Bluetooth had been installed years ago.  I temporally associated this error message with wife's plugging lactation pump into cigarette lighter and then losing power to central lighter sockets the day before.

Replaced fuse #1 at left panel.  And... problem solved!  Thanks to others who have contributed here!

I know it has been a long time since this post, but which row fuse #1?  By left panel do you mean the one in the driver's footwell?  My PCM is not responding at all after changing batter.  I did touch the battery posts incorrectly for a moment and blew fuse D10 (25 amp) but replaced it and still no joy.

  2. Alex,

I replied to your PM, but for the benefit of the others I'll post here as well.

The pictures I took were on the first day I discovered the leak. The leak actually diminished from that day forward, but I still had the RMS, clutch and IMS bearing replaced at my local independent shop. It cost me $2,400, parts and labor.

My guess is that the leak started because the engine was "lugged". I let my son shift in the neighborhood and he went from 2nd to 5th. It may have significantly disturbed the seal and then the seal settled back into place. Just my guess based any unusual activity and the fact that the leak decreased significantly over time.

  3. 2000 Carrera 6 Speed...

Went out on a Poker Run yesterday with the local chapter and had a blast. I jacked the car up today to take the wheels off for a good cleaning and wax and noticed an oil leak, then quickly turned to find a decent patch on the garage floor. Hadn't had any leak up until now. Does this look like an RMS?
