Hello,
When I open the doors to my 2000 Boxster S, the dome light and side door lights don't turn on. When I insert the key and turn on it one click, everything goes on as expected, however.
I just checked all the fuses with a tester and all seem operational.
Thanks for any ideas. I am interested to see if I can self-diagnose and repair.
On a separate matter my just-purchased Actron CP9125 shows trouble code 1276. Is anybody familiar with that code? I tried to find a table explaining the codes rather than as but was unsuccessful.
Many thanks!
Best,
Michael

Thank you! Regarding your second suggestion, the car did get soaked. The dealer ended up replacing the alarm control box. I stopped driving the car at that point, so I think (but an not sure) that this might have been related to their work. It could be unrelated but seems unlikely given your comment.
The alarm control box hasn't been wet since then. Is your idea that the box is faulty, or that there is a simpler but related potential cause? Something may be wrong there because the alarm sounds the horn sometimes when I disarm it. (Opening the passenger door in this situation does not cause the window to lower the typical inch or so.)
I appreciate your help. I would like to have a compelling argument that this might be related to the $2K or work the dealer did, so perhaps they would at least provide a complementary diagnosis of the problem.
Best,
Michael
