OK; I just had some 70K service done on my 2006 987, no problem.
But, in the recommendations box it says to replace the fuel pump and filter.
IDont understand how that could be recommended on an excellent running. 987 !
any thoughts ?
-
I would like to get the part # info too. So when mine break, I’ll have the replacements.

Is there a DOT preference for 3 or 4 ?

PSM alert went off after driving a couple of miles. My belts came back without the buttons that keep the latch from falling. Sent SafetyRestore a message; maybe they don’t include the buttons ?
-
Big thanks for the tutorial; the red seat belts are in.
One Question: The PSM alert is on, I read somewhere that is will go away after driving. Is that so ? Or, does my Indy have to reset the computer ? -
I got the retractors out after a lot of twisting, prying, and swearing; what a fit
Question: can I grind off. 1/4” off the end of that pin ? Or am I missing something ?

Update: I tried to rig up a siphon to start the draining in order to detect when the warning comes on. Well, the washer reservoir will not allow a tube to be inserted.
So, I'll resume using the washers and when the light comes on; I'll measure the amount needed to fill.
Question: What is the capacity of the washer reservoir ? ; My car is an '06 987
-
The washers were not used for approx 1 month. Today, I filled the washer tank again to Full. It took about 28 oz.
I am assuming the tank got filled at the start of my experiment.
There is no signs of water on my gsrxge floor.I think I’ll siphon out the water into quart bottles and see when thy he alert comes on
-
Good point.

I will check this weekend. I didn’t use the washer and the light hasn’t returned.
Will update

Any tips on purchasing and having the PCCM installed.
-
Still haven’t installed the sensor. Ran a test: I filled the reservoir to the top and used the windshield washers until the warning light came back on. Then refilled with a measured volume. The reservoir took 66 oz to refill; the warning light went back out.
My next test is to not use the washers for awhile, say a week or a month. Then check the level again and determine whether the reservoir leaks when driving.
Otherwise, now I’m going to tackle cleaning the top

This went smoothly. I was surprised at the dirt that got into the area where the headlight assembly sits.
I put silicon grease on the rails that the headlight use as guide. Went in very easy

After looking at a UTube video, it looks like the Round plug to the left is where the access is.

My 2006 987 needs a headlight bulb replacement. I’m looking at the owners manual for guidance; but need a little help.
I opened the carpeting to view the plugged opening. There’s a lower black plug and an upper blue plug. Is the black plug ghe one I use ?
and are there any tricks to using the unlocking lever

I love the operation of the intermittent wiper operation on my 2006 base Boxster 987
My question : Where is the rain sensor located ?
And, how does is work ?
-
Ok, I locked the car with the key fob, the Central Locking Switch flashes.
According to the owners manual, the part just behind the windshield ( see pic above) is a temperature sensor and GPS antenna
-
If it’s in the same module as the manual spoiler switch, you may need to order a new module; also known as a Stab Switch.
Dealers can get you the right one based on just the VIN, mine cost around $125.
-
Ok, that’s what I thought. What would I do to activate it ?

Brake Fluid Change and Clutch Fluid
in 987-1 Series (Boxster, Boxster S)
Posted
Today I had the brake fluid flushed and new DOT4 added.
I had the shop save me a 1/2 pint sample of both the old fluid and the new fluid.
I am in the process of testing both samples; will post pics and data…
