As soon as the switch arrived, the warning light went out. Some posts suggest the switch can act erratically.
keeping an eye on the situation.

Orders in: wondering how easy replacing the sensor is goons bee.
watched a video, but not clear to me
-
Thank you. I’ll get an order in today.
-
I saw several listed; can you pinpoint the part number?
the car is a 2096. 987
-
And I should be able to replace myself ?
-
I’m ready to do this; my warning light is on….

What is the main cause of the warning light despite having water in thr tank ?

My driver side door latch went limp too; door can be opened though. There is a iTunes video showing how to replace the part. I’ll post a link to it later.
I now have the replacement part and plan to R&R next Monday.

Update: mission accomplished ! A friend and I did the replacement in 2 hours. We reviewed the video several times. The video is good to a certain point . My shifter surround is solid and immovable; but it turned out that the switch could be removed after removing the side panels and 4 screws. At this point the push-in tabs on the module could be seen. We pressed them in and pulled out the module. Here’s a pic of those tabs;

There is a terrific UTube video on replacement of the switch module. Going to do the R/R this Friday.
*** The T30 screws were really in tight and hard to reach. I’d recommend using a power tool to lessen the strain.

Here's the Tube link:

I found this tube video that really helps. Going to instal my replacement stab switch soon
-
Update: I found a utube video that goes through the replacent process. Good detail on which parts to remove and the properTorex size drivers.
Also came across another utube where the entire stab switch is dissected; not helpful, but you can see what’s inside the module.

My driver side visor does not “snap” in the fully open position. Pass side is fine; slight bumps cause the visor to fall.
How can I tighten the visor so it holds in the up position ? -
I’m still curious what others have encountered ( 987, mainly )

The Stab Switch has 8 pins; I went over to a reliable Indy to see whether a switch can be tested. He recommends I switch out the old one and see whether the new one will operate the spoiler. If it still doesn’t work, the it’s something else. Per our discussion, the switch sends a low voltage square wave signal to the computer up front; then, a signal is sent to the spoiler motor. Yikes !
I’m thinking; if the PWIS was able to operate the spoiler, then part of the circuit must be ok.
I still have to change switches……..

There are 2 other versions of the Stab Switch depending on your cars options. When I submitted my order, there was a box to fill in my VIN. Based on the VIN, parts department selected the correct module with just the switches for the Spoiler and PSM..
Sunset Porsche Parts really helped!
