  1. for a GT3 MY08, is the battery the same as all of 911? thks
  2. checked the manuals section and for a MY 07 Carrera the coolant capacity is 32 liter, aprox 15 quarts antifreeze 15 quarts water, GT3 must be more or less the same. thks again
  3. wow that was fast, what is the entire system capacity? i dont have the manual with me, its in the car.
  4. posted at the parts request forum, but a stone hit my center radiator this saturday, fluid shooting out the front bumper, flatbed to dealer, today i got the estimate to change the radiator, price for radiator and labor is reasonable, according to MSRP of radiator given by Loren yesterday, but they want to charge me 400 dls for 15 quarts of antifreeze, i told them that less than a quart of fluid spilled, because we stopped the leak with some nose pliers, some more came out but it was not much. about how much fluid wolud go out of the system just by replacing the center radiator? I dont have anyway to check how much antifreeze they used to refill the car, opinions on what to do, should i just accept it? also, car has 3000 miles and just is 1 year old, they want to change the oil, as they say it should be changed once a year at least, manual says 2 years or 12500 miles, 400 dls to change the oil, all in all 1200 dlls. thanks in advance.
  5. thks Loren, just called dealer and they told me that the ac condenser is in front of the center radiator, is that true, im almost sure the ac condensers are on the sides and theres not one in the center, could you confirm, thanks again
  6. going to racetrack a stone hit my center radiator, had to call a platform to take my car to the dealer, will have to change radiator, want to know part number, and if it is the same radiator used by other models, tiptronic, turbo. thks
  7. thks, and the rears are different, but i suppose the rears are the same part number as the fronts on another model Carrera2, the thing is i cannot find the part number in aftermarket products for the MY 8 GT3, so i tried to find the relation between OEM part number for The 08 model and older model, do you know if the rears are totally new and eclusive for the MY 08? thks again.
  8. sorry, will not do it again. thks
  9. are the pads for iron rotors, for the 996 and 997 GT3 the same?
  10. been looking at the technical service information genuine parts information at Porsche.com, and im looking to change the brake pads (iron Rotors) for my MY 08 GT3, and there are two options for the front pads, K 996 351 948 00 which is the same for the 996 GT3, but without the K and 997 351 948 01 but on the model column for this option a I450 appears which is for ceramic brakes. Just want to confirm if the brake pads(iron Rotors) are the same for the 996 and 997 GT3? thks
  11. 2005 987, with 6200 miles, about a month ago a "check engine visit workshop" message appeared, no performance changes, just the message, took it to the dealer, they told me maybe bad quality gas or something, message erased, yesterday same message no performance changes, and a "9 days till service" message also in there, today the "check engine" disappeared, but the other one is still there, bought the car new 18 months ago, looked in the manual no information on this, service intervals are 18500 miles or two years, anyone know whats going on. thanks
  12. I have the same feeling of loss of power on my 05 987, took it to the dealer and they said its maybe mi imagination, as they checked the car and everything is fine, but after reading this post, did the ingniton on for 1 minute thing and started the car, now i dont feel that loss of power anymore, is this normal or is there something wrong with the program or something??
  13. Hello, for my 987 i have one technical question, : sometimes when accelerating slowly without AC on i can feel that a small decrease in acceleration occurs, as if the AC compressor engages and some power is lost, under hard acceleration nothing is felt, has anyone felt this, maybe its variocam, air pump, etc, before taking the car to the dealer hope someone can help me. thks
  14. been searching the web to buy oil and air filter for my 2005 boxster, but i only find filters for the 986, are they the same used for the 987? thanks eduardo

  17. thanks everyone, but its a 2005 987, if someone has one Im willing to buy it, or do you know where i could get it, apart from dealer?
  18. after leaving the car parked at a restaurant, somebody backed up and broke the rear lights housing an scratched the rear bumper really bad, obviously the person went away, anyway, how much for the rear light housing, and apart from dealer another supplier for this thanks
  19. thks, by any chance could you tell me what the TSB says, not to confident about the dealer, the other nearest dealer is very far away, would help me a lot.
  20. my 987(1000 miles on it) started to make a lot of noise coming from rear and front suspension, especially in irregular roads, took it to the dealer and they told the stabilizer bars were lose at the ends, so after putting the car on a lift, nuts were taken off put on some thread lock and put them back again and tightened them with a simple wrench, no torque wrench, he really made a great effort to tighten them, drove the car and noises are not present, even the car feels tighter, my question is he should use a torque wrench, any damage done if they are overtightened, or not an important issue?
  21. i know it depends on how much you use it, but doing the basic lubrication and opening and closing once a day, about how many years would you be able to use it without any problem?
