  1. I just finished installing my TPMS (see next post) and then my stupid main display went (VERY) dim. Well, a few days later. At first I thought it was out, but then I could see it still was displaying the information...it was just very dim. Has anyone had to deal with this? Does this require a whole new display or is there a bulb to replace (I hope so)? The entire dash was out a month or so ago when the dealer was trying to track down another issue. Lastly, is it difficult to replace this unit? Any help GREATLY appreciated!! :rolleyes: Matt
  2. Yes, the Pirellis. They're the only one's in that size. Discount Tire was totally out for two months. They had to buy them from Tire Rack. The tires stick out a little. If you have the Wheel Arch Extensions like I have, they stick out just enough. I would only be concerned that they might stick out too much for some people taste without the wheel arch extension. I think you'll be good. These rims are made specifically for the Cayenne. Sorry, out of the country until next week. I can send pics next week. Matt
  3. They fit with absolutely no problem. No rubbing of the bolt or plastic...even when in Load Level. It clears the bolt by about any inch. I love the way it looks. They REALLY fill the wheelwells. But, I have to admit, you might not like the look if you don't have the OEM Wheel Arch Extensions. I have them and I would say the wheels are perfect. Without the extensions, the tires might hang out a little too far. . I'm also running the OEM 17MM spacers on back. To clarify, I'm running 305-35-22 tires on 22X10 wheels with 50MM offset with no problems at all. Matt
  4. Yes, the 2nd Cat bypass pipes do add JUST ENOUGH noise. I know that because my wife still likes it. The UpSolute is a GREAT bang-for-the-buck. I don't know if you're getting all 80 HP and Torque. We all know that HP claims are optomistic. If they weren't we probubly wouldn't buy them. But, it's a very noticable difference in power and the boost is definetly higher. I know that because of the gauge quickly banging against the right side of the gauge and the "hiss" that I can hear now at WOT. CONCLUSION: BEST $1400 I COULD HAVE SPENT ON THE CAYENNE, PERIOD. :)
  5. I've ordered a set of rim (22X10 5-130 50S). As you can see they're 10" wide with a 50mm off-set. Does anyone know if 305/35-22 size tires will fit a Cayenne Turbo? The shop agreed to order them, do a fit test and then let me order a different size if they rub. I was just wondering if anyone else has tried.
  6. I'm installing an aftermarket Tire Pressure Monitoring System, TPMS, in the center console near the ashtray. Does anyone know of a good place to splice into for ACC/ON "Switched" power? I'm mounting the unit in that little tray area between the ashtray and the shift. So, I'm looking for a switched power near that area.
  7. I justt had my computer reprogrammed by P3 Automotive in Dayton Ohio. It's the UpSolute program. It costs $775 installed and is worth EVERY penny. Danny at P3 was outstanding and would highly recommend his shop to anyone. (I am not associated with his shop in any way). I just want to pass on when I have a good experience. I installed the FabSpeed 2nd Cat Bypass pipes ($650) and had the chip done the next day. The sound and power are awesome. That's how the Turbo should have been done from the factory. The sound is just slightly louder....just enough. With the exhaust and the chip, you can actaully hear the turbos now..... I love it! :P
  8. I installed the Fabspeed pipes ($600) and then had my chip reprogrammed by UpSolute ($750). Wow, what a deal. I would highly suggest these mods to anyone. Danny at P3Automotive in Dayton was awesome. I VERY happy with the result. A very noticable difference in power.

  11. Has anyone had to replace the dash rheostat/potentiometer that controls the intensity of the dash lights? I'm assuming it's the switch. Has anyone had the switch go bad? I roll it up and down and the intensity jumps up and down. Matt
  12. I'm replacing the brushed-metal B and C pillers with black ones. Has anyone replaced these before? If so, how do you do it? Matt
  13. Has anyone bought these? I know they're cheap and you get what you pay for. But, I'm not rich and I can't beat the price. I don't mind if they're a little heavy. I'm installing the Upsolute chip and Fabspeed pipes next week and can accept a little extra weight with the extra power I'll be making. http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/findWheel...1&tc=REPCAT I have the same 20" verson, but would like to upgrade. Mostley due to the filling of the wheel wells more. According to my calculations, the wheel face will set 22.7 mm farther out at the front and 39.7mm farther out at the rear with the 17mm OEM spacers I've ordered. What size tires have people been running with the 22" wheels? What's the largest that'll fit without rubbing and screwing with the computer? matt
  14. I received my FabSpeed secondary cat bypass pipes. However, Fabspeed told me that they were out of the copper gasket that they normally include with the pipes. So, should I just install them with the OEM steel gaskets that's on the car now or wait (who knows how long) for the new copper gaskets? Has anyone installed the pipes with the OEM gaskets that were on the car already? If so, any issues? :renntech: Thanks for any reply. Matt
  15. I've tried to install the OEM 17mm spacers on the rear and have ran into a problem. It looks like my 20" Techsport Wheel are not OEM (aka Knockoffs). And, the cut-out holes that the wheel bolt heads go into when you use spacers isn't as wide as the OEM wheels. It looks like I either need a lug bolt with a head that's less than or equal to 9.5mm or that's 15mm in diameter after the divergent part that seats in the bolt hole. Does anyone know of a wheel bolt that has a short head? Any help would be greatly appreciated. matt
  16. I've installed my new parts. I ordered the OEM wheel arch extensions, mud flaps and a new set of "spoilers" (Porsches' name, not mine). I've had them painted to match the car. My cousin did the job and did a fantastic job!! He used a product called Bull Dog to get the paint to stick. The paint company guarantees that the paint will not chip off. I'll let everyone know in a few months on how it stands-up to the weather. I know a lot of people have had issues with this. I also installed my clear marker lights and painted (red) Cayenne Turbo badge. Anyway, here's some photos. Matt
  17. I think I found my problem. My Techno 20" wheels are replicas and not OEM. Does anyone have any suggestions for a wheel bolt that has a shorter washer? Is there one availabe? I just need for the bolts to stick out from the face of the spacer about 5mm less.
  18. Ok guys. I just tried to install the Porsche OEM 17mm spacers on my 04 Turbo with the 20" Techno wheels. The factory wheel bolts that held the wheels and now hold the spacers will not fit into the holes on the back of the wheels. The wheel won't seat on the face of the spacers. The bolts do look like they have extra thick washers. Do I need other wheel bolts? Does Porsche put those bolts on to keep people from using the spacers on the 20" Techno wheels? I see that someone else has the same exact wheels as me (20" Techequipment Wheels). Any suggestions? matt
  19. Does anyone have an opinion on whether I should get the FabSpeed or GMP 2nd Cat Bypass Pipes for my Cayenne Turbo?
  20. Help. My recently purchased (3 months) Cayenne Turbo started to have "Place Selector in "P"" show on the display when I drove. This should only show if the car is shut off (engine not running) in anything other than Park (i.e. N, D). However, it showed while driving. There didn't seem to be any pattern on when it would happen. A clicking noise near my right knee could be heard when it happened too. Similar to a relay cycling. I took it to the dealer this morning and they're about 3 hours into it with nothing found so far other than the sounds it coming from the Porsche Entry and Drive module. I'm watching the dollars rack up each hour that I don't hear from them. I'm going to be (you know what) if I rack up a big bill with nothing fixed. :( Has anyone had this happen or had problems with the Porsche Entry and Drive system? Any help would be appeciated. Matt
  21. Well, I would like to get the DME chip upgrade. But, I cannot justify $2k. So, I'm considering either UPsolute ($750) or GIAC (waiting for price). Has anyone had experience with either company/product? Any feedback, large or small, would be greatly appreciated!! :renntech: Matt
  22. I'm considering having the UPsolute chip upgrade. There's a dealer locally in Dayton and the price is reasonable...$750 installed. Has anyone used this chip? Also, will the cap-bypass be good along with a chip? Has anyone bypassed the main cat or just the secondary cat? Matt
  23. I would like to do something to get more power from my Cayenne Turbo. It seems like there are a LOT of chips out there ranging from $599 to well over $2k.
