When my convertible top cables went awry, I started the repair, but turned the task over to my independent, as some damage had occured when I kept trying to lower the top despite a damaged cable - my bad! My independent managed to repair the top by replacing the cables and numerous parts, this some 18 months ago - I think. My clamshell creaks like crazy to this day, and it finally came to the point where I needed to do something about it. I lubricated everytihng that I could, but the problem appears that the clamshell just doesn't sit perfectly level. It appears that the culprit is Part # 98656140702 - Cabrio Ajdustment Plate , one on the left and one on the right. These were damaged during the repair work. These seemingly small and innocuos plastic bits that cost about $8 each regulate the forward movement of your clamshell. In other words, how far forward the clamshell will move when you close and open the top. My questions are - has anyone replaced these, what tools did you use, do you have any tips for me? Thanks in advance!
