Hello everyone, my retractable spoiler is making a squeaking noise, retracting and extending, when near it's full extension. Sounds like it needs lubrication. Is there a prefered lubricant and how do you go about it? Loren, any suggestions?
-
Looks like it is the same part number.
You might double-checking any mounting differences with your dealer.
I think the seal to the front windshield is different.
Thanks Loren, I'll do that.

Just wondering, does a 996 hardtop for my 2002 and later fit a 997? Anyone know? Thanks.

Hi guys, is anyone using spacers on a 996 with the x74 kit? If so, how much? Pictures would be greatly appreciated. :D

Hello one again, after much more thought I have decided to go with the RoW M030 suspension kit. I appreciate your reply, thanks.

Thank you for your replys. I suppose I leaning to the shorter springs. Anyone have suggestions which set of springs to get and/or can perhabs comment on the results? Thanks in advance.

Hi Guys, I know this has been discussed here and there in this forume, but perhaps you can humor me. I'm looking to lower my car (for the looks) and not stiffen the ride too much (for the wife), without breaking the bank. What are your suggestions? Also, how much should I lower it, without running into other problems? I look forward to your replys and thank you.

Loren, it could be # 3 from upper drawing, if that covers the forward latch.

Anybody, please :help:

I'm looking for a part number, and price, for a black plastic interior trim part that covers the forward latch on a hardtop. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I think that should be ok. I don't think the extra width is needed though. Just adds weight and foot print. However, if that's the size that's available for the tire you are looking for, you should be ok.
Thanks, I'm looking at the michelin PS2. I believe this will work when looking at the diameters vs. the OE contis, pretty much the same.

Anyone running 235/40/18 and 295/30/18 (GT3 tire size) on thier C2 or C4 with 18x8J and 18x10J respectively? Anyone aware of any issues?

I recently got my first Porsche 2003 C2 Cab. It came with the stock 5-star Carrera wheels with 225/40/18 on the front and 285/30/18 on the back. The dealer I bought it from put 15mm spacers on all 4 wheels and they are nice and flush with the body.
However, being a nut about big tires I would like to put 295/30/18 on the same rim on the back and 245 on the front (my MB SL had a 285 on a 9.5" rim so I figured that a 295 should fit on a 10"). I am a rather conservative driver so looks is more important then performance.
I searched the forum for anything about tires and spaces and found several references from Loren about putting 245 on the front.
So here are my questions:
1) Could I put the 295/30/18 on my current 10" rim? I would/should probably change the spacers on the back to a 7mm after the tire is about 5mm wider on each side. I don't want it to stick out of the fender.
2) What 245 would I need on the front? Would that be a 245/35/18? Based on Loren's comments they should fit on my 8" rim. But what about the spacers on the front? I assume I would have to either remove my 15mm spacer altogether or change it to a 7mm or even a 5mm?
Thanks for your comments and feedback.
Gerd
I have the same interest, but I'm driving a 02 C4 can anyone help?
2005 997C2 retractable spoiler squeak

Yea, I'll do that. Tried a seach, but didn't see anything, so I guess it's not a common occurence. I thought it might be a small matter and it would save me a trip to the dealer.
