  1. Thanks for the reply. I just spotted the location in my electronic manuals.... I don't think it is the issue I have, though the amount of disassembly required to check it out is crazy... Andrew
  2. Sorry, no really help here, but I'd love to hear how his works out as I'd really like to replace my PCM 2.1 with something a little better... I tried trolling the NAV-TV site to see if you'd missed anything, but they don't even seem to list the MOSTHUR... Andrew
  3. Wild guess, but the graphic implies PDCC (Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control), which keeps the car level when cornering etc... BUT, on other cars I have seen "PDCC" explicitly spelled out on the control (though those are all facelift models). Andrew
  4. I'm still trying to track down my coolant leak. Can someone post a pic of where to find the water pump on my 2006 CTT so I can check it out? Thanks. Andrew
  5. Thanks Loren, I'm 99% sure that the pipes are original as I have all of the service records for the vehicle and they haven't been changed. Given how buried the pipes are, how hard is it to check them? FYI - The leak is definitely towards the rear of the engine... Andrew
  6. My 2006 CTT (with only 17,000 miles on the clock) has developed a minor coolant leak. It's hard to tell exactly where the leak is, due to the tray under the engine, but do others here think this might be the pre-cursor to the dreaded coolant pipe failure? Thanks. Andrew
  7. Thanks for the advice guys. I managed to lift the seat high enough to unbolt the center seatbelt and so everything is now back to normal. That same seatbelt has jambed a couple of times already (usually when I'm in a hurry to belt my daughter in in the mornings), I so I guess I should look at replacing it... Sigh. Andrew
  8. Still trying to work out how to fix this issue, but in the interim, anyone know what the torx-head-like bolts used to attach the seatbelt to the body are called? Any idea where I have buy the appropriate tool to unscrew them? Thanks. Andrew
  9. I needed to move some tires and rims today and so for the first time ever I lifted up the base of the seat, removed the headrests and folded the rear of the seats down. This yielded an impressive amount of space but now I have a dilemma. When I went to lift the seat-backs back into place, the retraction unit on the center seatbelt decided it did not want to un-spool more than an inch or two and so I can't rotate the seat-back back into place. Anyone have any idea how I might fix this without going to a dealer or tearing the seats apart? Thanks. Andrew
  10. I had to pick up one for my CTT last week. The dealer just tried adapters 'till he found the right one. $28 for a 50 cent piece of steel, though I also got another wheel bolt for 'free'. Andrew
  11. Has anyone fitted any of the performance upgrades from Fabspeed to their Cayenne (Cat bypass/mufflers/ECU/air-filters)? I'd be interested in hearing any feedback if you have. Cheers. http://www.fabspeed.com/cayenne.html Andrew
  12. Unless your alternator has been replaced with a newer unit with an internal regulator, you'll need this part; http://www.pelicanpa...%2D%38%31%29%20 Andrew
  13. Anyone know what mods Porsche made to the Turbo to boost the power/torque to Turbo S levels? Looking at the mods available from Cargraphic it seems like and ECU upgrade, swapping out the secondary cats and changing the air filters can achieve similar results...
  14. My '06 Turbo, with ~15K miles on the clock, is drinking around a quart/1000. Seems high to me too (my '80 SC uses far less), but everyone says this is 'normal'. Andrew
  15. Thanks Loren. The latest TSB that I can see for 9PA tires is from November 2007. Am I missing something here or is this the latest available? Thanks. Andrew
  16. Anyone have a favorite/preferred 20” tire for summer? Also, what does Porsche recommend for summer tires in this size? Thanks! Andrew
  17. Here's the link to the TSB: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?app=downloads&module=display&section=download&do=confirm_download&id=1371 Andrew
  18. I believe that there is a TSB on this site that tells you how to do the upgrade. If I recall correctly, you will need to use all 3 disks in a specific order to get the upgrades to work correctly. Let me know how it goes as I need to do the same for my 2006 Turbo sometime soon. . Also, let me know if you can't find the TSB and I will look for it myself. Andrew
  19. +1 Any battery wants to be at full charge, but not overcharged. My 914-6 with red top Optima on a maintainer disappointed me. I just switched to Braille 17 lb. You can wire two 17s together or try a 21 lb version for a Cayenne. I got mine from Tire Rack. I've had a red-top optima on my 911SC for about 8 years with no issues. This included a period of about 4 years when I had a failing alternator (I was living/working mostly outside of the USA so the alternator replacement kept getting delayed), with the car being driven roughly every 6 weeks. I had a battery maintainer on it the whole time I was away and each time I got home and drove the car it started first time and ran fine. Andrew
  20. I'd REALLY like to know if this is possible as well... Please post the result of your investigation. Thanks!
