  1. HI There....

This is normal for many P cars. Usually more likely to happen after sitting for a while. Happens on 997's too. If you drive aggressively, let it idle for a few moments before turning off the engine and you will

be less likely to get the puff. Either way...Probably nothing to worry about.

    Enjoy!

Thank you. That is quite a relief. I was pretty worried about it.

  2. I have a 2002 c2. I just hit 51,000 miles today. When i started it up today, i got a cloud of white smoke out of the tailpipes. The car runs fine. There are no unusual noises, and no engine codes. I checked the oil and the coolant and both are fine. After a the engine warms up for a few minutes there is no smoke. Has anyone else encountered this? Any ideas what might be causing this?

  3. Hahahaha!! That's a very good idea!

I'm 29 and got my first Cayenne S. I'm going to be a Porsche owner for a long time to come. drive1.gif

It's somewhat "dangerous" for me here in Stuttgart with Porsche-Centrum here - they have every model, including the 450,000euro Carrera GT. It's ridiculously awesome. It's fun to put hand prints on the windows, though!! eek.gif

I wish i lived in Germany, then i could really test the cars high end speed. Someday i guess.

  4. I bought a 2003 C4S this week. My first Porsche. Picked up the car last night and took it for a spin after dark. Didn't take long for someone to bow up to me. A new pimped out Mercedes. I guess you get used to that?

I am looking forward to joining the Porsche Owners Club in town (Maverick). I feel like there is a lot to learn about the car besides just flooring it on the freeway on-ramp (which is fun, i am not knocking it!)

My next challenge is to buy a booster seat for the kiddo.

Thanks in advance for all the advice and knowledge sharing here on RennTech.

    Very nice!

  5. I had my coolant pipes replaced 13 months ago due to coolant leakage. Just when I thought life was good...Bang......1 month ago my car dropped all of its coolant on the ground.

Investigation revealed that there were two plastic T-pieces in the coolant system at the back of the engine, one of which had cracked.

The cracked T-piece was replaced along with the 2nd T-piece for preventative purposes. (CPO warranty picked up the tab  )

Dealer tells me that they are starting to see an increased number of cars with these T pieces cracking.

Looks like they will be another money spinner for them.

I am not sure if these T pieces are installed on the non turbo Cayennes. They may not be an issue for the normally aspirated.

    The part numbers for the plastic T pieces are: 955 106 323 50 and 948 106 035 51.

They are identified as "water hose" in the PET manual.

Get these changed without hesitation if you happen to be doing coolant pipe surgery on your Cayenne.

I had this problem with my Cayenne S. It is not limited to the turbos only.

  6. It's Sat. the 30th and I just installed a Philips HID kit, 5300k. I was very easy to do. Took about an hour but I tend to be methodical. Can't wait to drive it tonight. I went with Philips because, being in the semiconductor/electronics industry I could in no way trust the quality on the Chinese cheapos. The Philips is DOT approved and made in the Mother Land of our beloved cars. Got the Philips on Ebay for $179, best price I could find.

If anyone wants any details let me know. I'll have comparison photos after dark.

I just bought some for my 02 911. They are being delivered today. How do you access the lights to change them out? I just did a breif look the other day and do not see how you get into the lights. I would love to see the before and afters
