  1. I believe that U.S. spec 996's were delivered this way from the factory - not sure about GT3/Turbo. It had something to do with U.S. bumper height regulations, the bumper has to be at a minimum height to prevent submarining in a collision. U.S. spec 996's are 10-20mm higher in the front compared to rest of world (RoW) cars. That is the reason there is a difference between the U.S. M030 sport suspension and the RoW M030 sport suspension. The front springs/shocks give 10-20mm more ride height.

  2. I am thinking about muffler/tip mods, and I am wondering about the v-band clamps. Do people generally re-use the factory clamps, or go with stainless steel clamps? I have looked at the Fabspeed clamps online but they are pricey at $60. What is the diameter of the clamp? Will any v-band clamp (of the right size) work or is there something unique about the P-car clamps?

    Thanks,

    Charlie

  3. It is possible to remove one of these invisible bras without causing damage to the paint? I bought my '04 Carrera coupe used a few years ago and it came with an invisible bra (not sure which brand) installed. There are marks (I'll describe them as smudge marks) under the film on the hood -- it looks as though the film was perfectly clean when installed. If I could remove this piece of the invisible bra to get rid of the smudge marks I would, but I don't want to turn a small problem into a large problem.

Car color is Basalt Black Metallic, in case that matters.

    TIA

    Charlie
