  1. Hello, I found out the true problem why my belt was squealing, my radiator fluid resvior was leaking right on the belt. As soon as i got a new resvior and changed the belt again, no more squeal so check to see if your resvior is leaking. my mechanic checked my pulleys and belt tensiors, plus he even checked the timing belt tensiors too. So if your radiator fluid is constantly low and you have to refill it every once and a while. It may be leaking, my leake was a very slow leak and it leaked directly on to the belt.
  2. There are cars that get you from A to B and then there are cars that get you from A to B with a SMILE. If anyone ever ask you why you bought a PORSCHE you can use my quote and give them an answer.

  3. Hello I found out the problem for my squealing porsche, I listen to this one guy who said take off the belt and see if it squeals. It did not squeal so they replaced my built and the noise stoped. Being that I changed the belt 5000 miles ago, they replaced for free. However I did not get away that easy, I told them I noticed that there was oil sitting on top of my engine. Come to find out, my power steering reserve had hole in it and was leaking on my engine plus I have a small oil leak and they are changeing out 5 of my o ring so for parts and labor it running my a thousand.
  4. I have a 97' porsche boxster, my vehicle is makeing a squeaky noise sounding like its coming from the two pulleys or alternator. I dont know what side they are on but I think they are comeing from the left side. I orginally thought it was my water pump and had it changed that was costly. It still made the noise after that and my mechanic said that my water pump needed changed anyway there was play in the pulley ALOT OF PLAY he stated. I was going to either replace the two pulleys or the alternator. I already changed the tensioner and belt when I first bought the car, because it was makeing that loud belt squealchy noise when the engine was cold. Now its makeing this squealing noise when the engine is at normal engine temp and only makes the noise during idleing speed. the min I gas it up it goes away. However when im cruising down the street in 4th gear and the engine rpms or down in the 2000 it makes the squealying noise. which is annoying you can barely hear it in the cab but when I open the door its loud and clear and worst when im at a stop light and another car is next to me it echos off of that car and appears to be louder. if I find a solution I will share it with you and if you find a solution please continue to share thank you. I am a little bit smarter now so im not going to rush in and order pulleys or alternator. Im going to have them take the belt off and see if it makes that noise and if it does well they will save me 900 us dollars for changeing out two pulleys and an alternator. thank you very much
  5. Hello I have a question, im thinking about getting an after market turbo, I know if I do this I will have to change out the exhaust and several other things. I just want to know is it worth it, in the short run yes this could be costly and in the long run would this cause engine damage. Is it more wise to change out the engine from a 2.5 to a 3.4 or something. I want the quick speed and still keep the good gas mileage. Can someone help me or give me advice about this I greatly appreciate it thank you.
  6. Thank You, I will try that I prey to God that it has nothing to do with the engine. I changed my clutch and fly wheel assembly 2000 miles ago, so I think that is good. I will try that and let you know Thank You, for the reply I tried that. The noise still remained I even gunned the engine a little and like before as soon as the engine is below 4000 RPM the noise comes back and is louder than the engine at idle speed. I did notice that takeing the oil fill cap off made my engine run harder in idle speed, in fact the idle speed flectuated from 800 - 1000 RPM as if someone was gunning my engine. the exhaust even came out faster. But as soon as I capped it the gunning and fast exhaust stopped. So its not the AOS.
  7. 1997 PORSCHE BOXSTER 2.5 H6 ENGINE 5SPEED Hello, how is everyone doing I have a 97 porsche boxster, my car makes a high pitch squealing noise. In fact it makes the noise around 900-3500 RPM and it only makes that noise after the engine is running at normal engine temp. While the engine is cold it will not make the noise. I first thought it was the water pump and had it changed out and the noise still persits. my mechanic stated that its the alternator: cause for my model year (97) they did not make a free spinnning pulley alternator which came much later. My mechanic said because the lights are on and radio is on it puts a load on the alternator during idleing speed or the problem is the two pulleys. I changed out the belt and tensioner, because it was makeing a sqeaky noise when I first turned on the vehicle and the engine was cold. this was at 101,000 miles now the car is 111,000 miles and this noise is annoying. the two pulleys or on back order and I will not recieve them until april so when I change them out I will let everyone know the outcome. Since my mechanic cant pinpoint the noise Im going to change out the pulleys first, thus its cheaper than the alternator. if anyone else has this same problem, please let me know so that I dont have to pay for something that does not need to be done or at least done now, thank you
