  1. Just picked up my car yesterday and was into it today and discovered a leaking battery!! I neutralized acid but it has already taken some minor paint off its mount plate. I obviously want to switch it out and I have the part number on the original battery. My question is are there any Non porsche batteries that will work as good or better (ie Interstate) if so what model? Can you put one in with more CCA without hurting car? Thanks for your help? Jim <_<
  2. Thanks for all your insights. wross996tt did you have the pss9 installed locally? I live in Evergreen how much did you pay installed? Jim
  3. So it is the X73 for TT? Is it worth the money to have adjustability from the PSS9? Although I have had easier time finding discounted PSS9 ( rather than the X73). Jim
  4. Are there any advantages of the PSS9 over the X74 package? Does X74 package include bigger sways? Thanks Jim
  5. Just got a 2002 X50 (orient red) and it will lose its original warranty in 8/06. I want to take in to have it looked at before that and was wondering if there was anything in particular I should have them check before it runs out? Did 2002 have the RMS issue like earlier models? Thanks for your insights Jim
  6. Thanks for your help :clapping: Car came with scraped lip just replacing. Hopefully I won't do the same thing!! Jim
  7. Is it hard to replace yourself? Does any one have DIY instructions? Jim :)
  8. When I bought my 02 C4S The stock lip spoiler had a couple bad scrapes. I found a lip spoiler from an 04 TT. Will it bolt onto my C4S? Do you have to get new mounting hardware, if it will, or can you use your old hardware? If it can be, is it hard to do yourself? Thanx Jim
  9. Saw a carbon shift lever from an 04 996. Will it work on an 02 996? Specifically the boot. Do the boots hook on differently? The one on my 02 looks integrated to the lever, whereas the 04 lever looks seperate Many thanx Jim
  10. I tried a modification with an old airbox muffler and just cut it way down to open up that part of airbox, but left the hole open.. Boy that gave a good sound but it was getting too much air then. I suppose it is because it was entering after the MAF? Anyhow it threw a CEL. I put back in the muffler and reset computer and it was fine. I am now trying the same cut out piece but used some epoxy to put a plastic plate over hole to stop the air but keep the sound. I also took out the first screen like Loren and also using a BMC air filter. The stock boot looks much stronger than the Fabspeed soft silicone. With the BMC filter and screen out it already performs a little better. I do not think they can claim all that HP from an air kit. ( I would be able to tell I live t 7800 feet!) Maybe a little better throttle response and some growl that is all I would expect. Don't think these kits they offer are worth the money. (IMHO) If my mod works it was done for under $50!
  11. Thanks for your input. I knew the first generation intake they had had problems and threw CEL's. I wonder if they made tube from thick pvc if it wouldn't insulate better. $500 plus is a lot of coin. The DME change probably extremely helpful. I am going to try some home made things first and see how they work. (Remove screens, cut out stock intake muffler) Thanks again Jim
  12. Anyone had any experience with this newest version of EVO's cold air intake system for the 3.6/3.8? I think they had an older version that did not contain itself very well. This supposedly is all contained with lid shut. Has a "venturi" effect??? Thankx Jim
  13. Well spoke with guys at Brandywine Porsche and the 000 044 500 38 is the one I needed to use (even though they listed it for my03 and up) So I m sending back the other kit (which was for narrow body C4) Jim
  14. Are there more than 1 part number out there for the euro C4s Row M030 suspension kit? I have read here 000 044 500 38 I ordered one form Andial and they sent 000 044 500 28? Thanx Jim
  15. Kit number of one I got was 000-044-500-28 Euro version which is supposed to be lower than US version Jim
  16. This is the kit I got from guys at Andial, they were $300 cheaper though they said it only lowers 10mm. Are there 2 ROW kits for C4S out there? Jim
  17. I was changing my air filter to the BMC and noticed on the MAF that there is a plastic grate and a fine mesh screen through the air channel at MAF? Do these hinder air flow. Is it wise to remove them to increase airflow? I live in thinner air at 7800 feet and need all the air she can get. Thanks for help/advice Jim
  18. Loren do you have a DIY on removing baffles and plugging hole? Wgat do you do with theintake bott that has the little side piece for the muffler? Thanks
  19. Well I got the Row M030 struts/springs from Andial. Keeps original sways. Should not be too wild. Lowers 10 - 12mm and a little stiffer spring rate. We'll see how it goes. Had to keep it streetable for the wife ya know!
  20. Well I am also thinking the X73 suspension.. Does it lower more than an inch? Justin at Brandywine Porsche recommended tha option. Jim
  21. Pretty much what I found out too. And I agree, don't want to make it too aggressive or expensive.. not tracking this car. I was thinking of ROw too but the C4S already has tte bigger sways so maybe just the struts/sprng combo. Thanks Helps solidify my choice.
  22. Anyone got suggestions on lowering my 02 9964S? I know these cars come with the larger sways of the turbo so would I just need springs? Struts? Do they make a factory lowering kit for this car? AFtermarket? Thanks for any advice! Jim
  23. Alas I am not that good with mechanical things. I can change oil and tires..about it. Still curious if the aftermarkets make more hp than the pse. I heard GHL is good and regular model not so loud. Thanks
