  1. Thanks very much Jim I like to drive fast but not for prolonged periods like racing I will apply money in more cost effective modifications for street use. I really like this forum as it is quickly educating me on my new 996!
  2. <_< Well does anyone really think these exhaust mods and more specifically headers, really make the effort and cost worth it over stock manifolds? Loren what do they make the exhaust manifolds out of? Does it differ for MY? Are they "tuned" like aftermarket claim to be?
  3. Most of the aftermarket guys will tell you need to remap to take advantage of the increased intake, and in your case outflow with the mufflers, for more bhp But if it is just sound you are looking for I personally would not remap.
  4. :D Thanks I would have looked under driver's seat like my old 89 911. Most of these places I have contacted want me to send it in. Although I found a place called www.eurospeedperfomance.com that is going to sell a unit you just plug into diagnostic port and reflash the ecu without taking it out!!
  5. anyone have experieince with teh Fabspeed exhaust system?
  6. Loren How would one go about removing the ECU to be sent in for remapping?
  7. :P Is it also wise to do an ECU modification with these exhausts?
  8. Hi was wondering if there is any pitfalls to taking off the stock exhaust header pipes. I am installing Fabspeed Headers and mufflers and don't want to hurt anything. I already found the DIY article for the mufflers! :jump: Thanks in advance (Great Site!)
  9. :clapping: Thanks so much, I just did not think I was willing to pay $180 for a change!
  10. I just bought a 2001 996 C4 and want to change it's oil before putting up for winter. It is so much different than my 89 911. I take it the pan underneath is the oil pan and the filter is under there too? Is the filter all in one or does center element come out? What viscosities are best during winter (I live in mountains of Colorado) Thanks
