  1. Just wondering is the 997TT OEM exhaust less restrictive then the older 996TT? I know 996 version has 4 300 cell cats in it. If it is less than can the 997 exhaust somehow be retrofitted to the 996 car? After see ing cost of aftermarket exhausts was looking for more economical way to get a a free flowing exhaust. No one will modify my current exhaust for fear of being in trouble with fedsThanks

  2. Okay any of you aerodynamics experts. I have a scarred up stock lip spoiler on my TT and was going to replace it. Thought about just getting the factory Aero lip from Carnewal but was not sure if it would significantly upset the car's balance if I kept the stock rear spoiler setup. I am also going to be changing the suspension when I add on lip to the X73 which will lower it about 30mm from US spec height.

    Thanks Jim

  3. How did your ordeal turn out? I was interested because that was one of the mods I considered but was kind of leary esp at $800! I wonder if it is because of the Giac chip? Have you tried it with stock ECU settings? I personally just kept stock airbox with a BMC filter and stock ECU. Car is very reliable and smooth running that way! I put my Money in suspension and lighter wheels.

  4. Thanks I went out and put calipers on present bars and keep getting 23mm on rear and 24.5 on front (the piece that sticks into the wheel well that you can reach measured on the round part) I wonder since this is an X50 if it does not already have the X75 sways stock? Hope so will save me $$ When I put on the X73 kit

  5. I was discussing with the head mechanic at my Shop in Denver today and we discussed sway bar upgrades for my 02 TT X50. He was thinking of using Sways for a GT2. Does anyone know if they are larger in diameter than the stock TT? I measured sways currently on car at 24mm in front and 23mm in rear. I am going to be installing the factory X73 kit along with sways, will that make any difference?

    Thanks

    Jim

  6. Does anyone know what cell density the cats on the X50 exhaust are? I am considering aftermarket exhaust but most only have 100 cell density cats. I still want to pass emissions but get more exhaust flow. These companies claim that less back pressure is easier on the turbo life and the engine gets more hp? <_< Are the stock ones with X50 400 cell density each?

    Thanks Jim

  7. Found out from Bilstein site that you can set height from -20 to -50mm upon installation and if you want to change you have to get up on rack and loosen struts to reset the height adjustment nut. The knobs are only for rebound/compression settings.

  8. Loren when you say the PSS9 will lower up to 50mm does that mean I can adjust the height from 0 to -50mm with the adjusters? Or are the adjusters just for rebound dampening? Or is it you can adjust ride height as you are putting them on then only have rebound adjustment?

    Jim

  9. WRoss this is my first turbo . when you had your emissions test did they put it on the double roller thing or did they do a 2 speed idle test off the rollers? I guess it might make a difference with which suspension I might get. I mean if they DO put it on the rollers and it is too low., don't want them to screw up the car. If I had the PSS9 maybe I could run it all the way up and clear the rollers and then set back down! Also does anyone recommend any particular adjustable sway bars for the 02 TT especially in conjunction with either PSS9 or X73?

    Thanks Jim
