  1. Just picked up my car yesterday and was into it today and discovered a leaking battery!! I neutralized acid but it has already taken some minor paint off its mount plate. I obviously want to switch it out and I have the part number on the original battery. My question is are there any Non porsche batteries that will work as good or better (ie Interstate) if so what model? Can you put one in with more CCA without hurting car?

    Thanks for your help?

  2. Just got a 2002 X50 (orient red) and it will lose its original warranty in 8/06. I want to take in to have it looked at before that and was wondering if there was anything in particular I should have them check before it runs out? Did 2002 have the RMS issue like earlier models?

    Thanks for your insights

    Jim

  3. I tried a modification with an old airbox muffler and just cut it way down to open up that part of airbox, but left the hole open.. Boy that gave a good sound but it was getting too much air then. I suppose it is because it was entering after the MAF? Anyhow it threw a CEL. I put back in the muffler and reset computer and it was fine. I am now trying the same cut out piece but used some epoxy to put a plastic plate over hole to stop the air but keep the sound. I also took out the first screen like Loren and also using a BMC air filter. The stock boot looks much stronger than the Fabspeed soft silicone. With the BMC filter and screen out it already performs a little better. I do not think they can claim all that HP from an air kit. ( I would be able to tell I live t 7800 feet!) Maybe a little better throttle response and some growl that is all I would expect. Don't think these kits they offer are worth the money. (IMHO) If my mod works it was done for under $50!

  4. Thanks for your input. I knew the first generation intake they had had problems and threw CEL's. I wonder if they made tube from thick pvc if it wouldn't insulate better. $500 plus is a lot of coin. The DME change probably extremely helpful. I am going to try some home made things first and see how they work. (Remove screens, cut out stock intake muffler)

    Thanks again

    Jim
