I had the dealer put one in a couple months ago and it is very hard to get into reverse and often pops out of reverse if you take your hand off. I intend to take back to see if it can be adjusted.

I got my 01 C4 some ECU updates at AutoSport Werks in Broomfield, did the rest at Prestige Porsche Audi (ask for mechanic Dave P!) Good Luck

Does anyone know what the stock plugs are for MY01 3.4L(part #)? Are they single or multi pronged? If single is there any advantage to the multi ones like Beru Ultra-x or Bosch PLat +4?
Thanks in advance

Are there any easy DIY for removing stock center console and putting in the Carbon Fiber one?

About what mine runs and with fans running. My old 74 used to run REAL hot like cose to 250 when running hard up a mountain!

What years is this for? Is it for Pre MY08/01?
Jim

:D Mine does this also but 2 shops I have had it to for other things did not mention it as a problem.

I too have this modification but later was told to put back in the grate in the MAF that Fabspeed says to remove from a tuner (Gunther) at Sporttech out of Switzerland. He says it helps direct airflow over MAF sensor.

From a couple of replys ago:
996 505 986 00 Spoiler lip 1ea
999 507 427 40 Expanding rivet; 16.0 mm, 8 mm long for spoiler lip 11ea

:P Mine is already black so if it is a good quality flat black I also will leave it!
Looks great! Also can you "cut out " that center piece for the third cooler?

Lucky I mentioned this I would not have had all the accessory parts listed!!
Bumper part number has been changed apparently to 996 505 980 03 G2X (which is what this bumper is) otherwise all else fine. Probably lucky they sent me a wrong side skirt otherwise I would have never inquired! Thanks again!

 While we are at it what might the part number be for the front bumper for same MY GT3 ? ( I ordered one of those to0!)

I recently received some GT3 side skirts from Suncoast Porsche but part number stamped in skirt is different than on invoice. What are the corretc numbers for left and right skirts for these MY 98-01 996? They listed 996 559 981 01 g2x but what is stamped is 996 559 980 01 (and I got 2 of the driver side to boot!!)

:P Hi You will need more offset on those 11's or they will stick out of well. Wheelenhancement is a good resource. When I thought about 11's they said to use 65 ET on rear.
Good luck

V8huntr did you ever install the supercharger?

I agree 100% with Adam... paint consistency is very important especially if color is one of the more difficult ones to match

Cool, but your original assessment must have been right..I went out and drove it hard and within 2 miles the noise stopped.
Thanks again

:P Thanks Loren.. Just got the spoiler off in less than 1.5 hours (Now would take less than hour as I am familiar with things under there) Got my base on for the wing too! Just need the paint shop now!

Are we talking racing speeds here? For a car not tracked I do not think it would be
significant. BTW Does attaching lip spoilers, as opposed to entire bumper cover replacements, cause enoough down force?
JimD

:P Thanks I will try pushing on them. If not, I will have to have dealer take it apart.. I do not have the huge socket needed to take the disc hub off. BTW the thickness came in at about 27.8mm.
Jim

Loren I hope it is just a rock. How does it sense when disc thickness is getting to narrow? I knowit has a pad wear sensor. I know some car makes make a noise type alert system when brakes wearing down. I can measure disc thickness if that helps.

PSE without wiring
in 996 Series (Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera 4S, Targa)
Posted
I just bought an 02 Carrera 4S with stock mufflers and was looking at the PSE for it. I was told by dealer rep that I can have them installed without wiring the bypass relay and they would just always be with sound "on". (which is what I want) Told it was $700 cheaper install also. Is this true? I take I would want the newer version of PSE with 3.6? Thanks for any advice
