Can you describe how the belts are failing? Are they wearing on one side or breaking straight across the width? Any odd wear patterns? If possible post a pic of the broken belt.
They start to wear on the outside , then separate the threads, i will try to get a picture of it

I need help with my 2000 986 s ,
Its only 35k miles on it but since i Bougth it 6 months ago i had 3 broken accesories belts.
two of those were original porsche , the last one was a aftermarket replacement.
I had cheked the pulleys , they seem to be ok, two months ago i replaced the alternator clutch, blaming the problem on that
Any ideas?

thank you, I installed correctly, seems the new one came with a defect, anything that I should check, after the belt broke?

SOUND ITS COMING FROM ALTERNATOR, LOOKS LIKE THE BEARINGS AT THE PULLEY ARE GONE. SHOULD I REPLACE THIS ONE OR SENT IT FOR REBUILD? SHOULD I CHANGE THE TENSIONERS AT THE SAME TIME?

Take the belt off and check all the pulleys for wobble. Replace any that wobble.
Any chance of doing this from the top?
