  1. Does anyone have the instructions for removing / replacing the dash in a '99 996? Thx
  2. I have a 99 996 C4. I am looking at a set of OEM Carrera 5 Spokes .... The seller has them on an 00 Cab but the rear wheel sizes are 18X9 (part#996.362.138.00). My understanding is that the 996 rears should be 18X10. I probably already know the answer to this but ... can the 18X9's be used safely on a 996? Thx
  3. Update. I finally had this checked out. Apparently I need a new check valve and air pump valve. one was corrodded / blocked and one they recommened be changed at the same time ... i dont recall which was which. Parts are about $75 each and labor is $300. Does this sound about right?? Thx, Mark
  4. Sorry for not knowing but what does it sound like / should I be listening for? If you can humm a few bars i can probably catch the tune ... :D
  5. I have a 99 c 4. The check engine light is on and the diagnostic is p0410 (secondary air injection system). Any ideas on the specifics of this problem and if this is a DIY fix. Thx
  6. Similar issue with mine. I identified the likely problem visually but i still haven't figured out what the problem is .... http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=6114&hl=
  7. Does anyone know if the Radio Wiring Harness in a 99 996 (w/o the Factory DSP Option) has the connector for the DSP Control Panel? Thx, mark
  8. after leaving the car in the garage for 4 weeks, the new battery was no longer a question mark but a requirement. duralast 48 DL did the trick for $65. Without shame, I installed it in the parking lot of AutoZone next to a guy working on his Camero.
  9. I am thinking about adding the factory DSP Sound System to car ( MY 1999). I know the package is not great but a friend has the interior control part / interface. Does the amplifer also need to be swapped out or is the DSP intelligence located in the interior part? Also, does anyone know if the DSP will work wih the HK Traffic Pro Navigation? Thx, mark
  10. This is a drivers side interior door panel (in blk). I am trying to determine if the part is for a 99 (which I do not want) or 00+. For reasons unknown, they keep giving me the wrong part numbers ...Thx for your help!
  11. 996.555..833/4.0 Hello - Can someone look up the this part # for me? It (should be) a black, Drivers Side, door panel but I would like to know the year. Thx
  12. Can the lifting element seal simply be tightened or does the seal need to be replaced? if it needs to be replaced, what is the process for doing this? While it looks like this is one of the problems, it appears from the picture (as you pointed out) that there is leakage with closer to the front of the engine or above this point. Is their a way to further isolet the problem? Additional thoughts? TIA
  13. I just finished changing the brake pads on my 99 C4. Thanks for all of the assistance and a greate DIY page. During the process, I noticed an engine related problem on the drivers side. Not sure what it is other than 'not good' so I took a photo. Can someone help me target the problem? For unknown reasons, I am unable to attach the picture but it is posted at www.mccormack.us Thx.
  14. What is the thickness (or lack thereof) point for when the rotors need to be changed. Thx
  15. I am trying to locate the OEM BERU spark plugs. I cant seem to locate them at the standard auto parts store? Any recommendations on alternative plugs or locating them w/o going to the dealer? Thx
  16. I dont know if it would fit on a 99 but a guy was selling his 01 completed turbo wing on ebay for $450. That is a deal ...
  17. Thanks. The battery was replaced about 2.5 - 3 years ago. Sometimes it seems to have great power and others like it will barely get the job done. The cold starts seem strong and the starts after a short stop seem weaker.
  18. Quick Question: I have a 99' C4. All is well but it seems like the battery is really getting taxed when starting the engine. I am not paranoid but I would rather save myself (worse yet, my wife) from being stuck in parking lot. Does the battery die a slow death over a period of time or does it happen all at once? TIA
