  1. has anybody here retrofit installed a paddle shift steering wheel? it seems like a plug and play but there are different opinions on wheter a connection to the piwis to reset something is needed or not. i am converting to paddle shifters and i am a diy guy but dont want to mess it up if it need electronic intervention to install...maybe our technically knowledgeable brothers can give their opinion.

  2. i am wondering if anybody has really gotten in touch with PORSCHE and asked about DIY oil change affecting warranty claims. it seems that a lot of delaers actually overfill oil when a simple change oil is done. I am sure any knowledgable owner with some DIY experience can do the job better as there are no time constraints to doing the job right. For a simple oil change can Porsche void warranty specially if the service was properly documented. I intend to video the whole process so that PORSCHE cannot deny right service.

  3. would anyone have detailed instruction for an oil change for 09 997 . beside draining the oil pan, do I also have to drain the oil tank if there is one?Thank You.

    :welcome:

Pretty straight forward - like most of the late model Porsches.

Oil drain on the bottom of the sump - us a new sealing washer (the same one they have used for 15 or 20 years) 900.123.106.30 -- US MSRP $0.81 each

Oil filter canister on the top of the engine. New filter and o-ring. oil filter 948.107.222.00 -- US MSRP $16.13, O-ring 948.107.322.00 -- US MSRP $6.32

Same oil filter, o-ring and and pan sealing ring are used on the Panamera.

hi loren, i am new to our forum group and i just bought a 2010 carrera s in carrara white, pdk. you have details on the torque requirements for the oil filter cover and the drain plug? we dont want to strip any threads and make a big mess.
