Just completed the final install of my V1 and the display integrated in to the mirror...
Are you planning to stealth mount the main V1 control unit somehow (like shown in the Boxster DIY section)?
I will have to look at the boxter DIY but in the cayenne there really is no place to stealth mount it...i would love to if you or anyone else has ideas...?

Hi All,
Just completed the final install of my V1 and the display integrated in to the mirror, makes it much slicker and easier to use. Next step will be remote audio all being well.
The full V1 display is now in the corner of the mirror and the mute button is on the back.
Look in the DIY for more info
Thanks

The camera is the Pioneer ND-BC1. Look around is everywhere....
I will hook it up to the Nav-TV OPV-1C Fiber optic MOST and CAN Plug and play kit. It will display in the PCM screen when the car is in reverse.
I just need some help with the cable routing..................Then I'll report the end results.
Ok well routing the cablibn is quite simple to get to the pcm
remvove the rear carpeted area on the hatch (INSIDE) it should pop off.. gentley pull and look for the caps that unsnap from the body off the door.....then
fish the cable up to the wing of the rear hatch (spolier) there are 3 screws with caps on them gently remove them and remove the wing. fish the cable down the hatch on the left clip you should see where the exisiting cable is routed threw inside the headliner of the cayenne... from thre fish the cabling inside to the middle and back over to either the pass or driver side along the side walls of the floor up under the front seat to the console up the sidewall of the PCM and your set.
GOOD LUCK :)
let me knw your results and total cost
thanks

Hi all!!!!
I'm trying (actually planning) to install a rear view camera in my '05 Cay V6. I think a good place would be just below the rear door handle and above the lincense plate frame (the frame would have to be trimmed to fit the camera. I want to route the cable thur the rear door handle (rubber) into the door and then up to the spoiler and down to the rear LH side of the cargo area.
Any ideas on how to remove (access) the rear door linner to get the camera cable routed as described?
Thanks in advance for any clues..........
Where did you get the camera>? How are you putting it in PCM or other monitor?
i liek factory look install

I bought it 4 weeks ago at Al & Ed’s Autosound. They had to order it but only took 3 days to get it. I little pricey but worth it to me. I paid $795 for the OPi-P unit.
Here is the wed site. I am not sure why its 1300 bucks now.
You can get it for $599 + $89 for the plug n play option?? directly with NAV-TV. You can email them at Gary@nav-tv.com. Gary Tepper is the National Sales Manager. ;)
thanks
does this make the Video button on PCM work? so all i need to a dvd player? adn how does the ipod piece work on the PCM?
-
I’m afraid so. Problem is this is how you access the ipod. You need to select CD changer on your head unit to select the input from the OPi-P unit. If you had both the CD changer and the OPi-P plugged in I am not sure what would happen. Why would you need both? Put all your CDs on the ipod and if you need to listen to a CD use the head unit.
I installed my OPi-P unit in the CD charger compartment so I wouldn’t have to pull the head unit. Just incase I have any warranty issues I can remove it in 5 seconds. It works really well and was very easy to install. You can kinda do it without any tools. I just used pliers to crimp spade connectors onto the power and ground wires. Then I plugged them into the CD changer cable already in the CD changer compartment. I plugged in the optical cable also in the CD changer compartment and the ipod cable and I was listening to sweet non-static ipod music. 2 minute install. Funny thing is the guys at the shop wanted a 100 bucks to install it… ;)
where did u get the ipod interface?

True, NO reason to idle for warm-up. Maybe 10-60 seconds tops. Just drive easy until engine reaches normal op temp. and give time for the tranny fluid to warm-up. Keep RPM's below 3,000-4,000 until normal op. temp.
Excessive idle time for warm-up just wastes gas and can ultimately foul-up some of your delicate and expensive engine/emmissions sensors.
ok great lol I kinda beat on it sometimes cause it gives great power haha ill stop that. thanks

Hi,
I have been driving my Cay 06 S for just about a year. I did notice a few things and wanted to see if anyone here shares: This is driving in Chicago:
1. The FM traffic receiver doesnt seem to work in Chicago. I have had it come on once in this whole time and that was driving in Cincinnati. Any suggestions?
2. The engine noise: It used to be a easy mean HUMMMMMMM.... and now its more like a drum roll, more like its not smooth and something is off. I can also feel slight vibration on the steering wheel sometimes. The cabin has become definitely more noisy.
3. I have a slight discoloration ( from scraping a wall just slightly when turning), any suggestions on the best way to use the factory paint canister ( buff first, wash it etc etc).
4. Any news of Porsche coming out with a Bluetooth solution for this car anytime soon? Weird but it my history is right, Porsche is the original inventor for bluetooth. hmm!!!
To answer #4
i have succesfully moded my cayenne with PCM 2 with the motorola bluetooth kit...which wokrs with the stock audio system....
read my posts or ask if you have any ??s

Okay, I was in a bit of a rush when I bought my car, and I should have rented something for a few weeks so I could look around and get absolutely and exactly what I wanted, but I foolishly didn't.
I have the standard rearview mirror and want to replace it with the self-dimming/anti-dazzle mirror rear view mirror.
Can it be done?
Has anyone actually done this?
Bobby,
Yes i have tried this..(dont waste your time) :jump:
its a big pain in the you know what...the system isnt just power and ground there is a connector taht must be plugged into the electrical system which is like i siasd not batt and ground..as far as i can tell and what i have tried cant be done....let m eknow if you get further than me

I have seen a mod of a Valentine 1 that has been modified of the LEDs for a more distinctive noticification such as instead of all red there is red orange, blue yellow for different bands. does anyone have this or know where i could inquire about it?
Thanks Marco

If you are a good customer - free.
Otherwise I would expect to pay the minimum 1 hour labor.

As i think i stated in one of the other forum replies, most of these options, a i have repeatedly asked and trial and error'ed , will not be able to be resolved. So be forwarned! The only was is to install these options, and quite frankly it's not logical unless you have the cash! That or you're crazy like me and install a TPMS sensor because it was driving me nuts hahah! ;-)
haha all of us guys on here are nuts we own friggin porsches lol and do crazy moddddssss

IMHO, this is the best xenon fog light bulbs ever. I had them installed on my previous BMW M3 and they are what they advertised. They look great too.
I ordered the same H11 fog light bulbs from this guy and installed them in my Cayenne. They work and they look marvellous. Esp when they look blue on the fog lifht housing when off and AWESOME when on.
Hi all
i put HIDS in my fogs and headlights

What year car do you have ?
How far away from the car are you when you try to open ?
Are you aware of the delay between clicks on the lock / unlock sequence ? 2 FULL seconds
If your car is an 03/04/05 complain to the dealer, replacement keys were made available FOC because of range problems.
Happens all the time. The contact inside the key is not touching the battery, I've tried inserting spacers on top of the key battery in order to push it down onto the contacts. It works for a while. You have to squeeze hard with your thunb onto the space between the two buttons and rolling the tip of the thumb onto the button. This works but is a pain.
.
YES YES AND YESS
i have an 2005 cayenne keys replaced twice !!!
same problem they said change to unlock all doors together at once
i hear 06 was better
