  1. My 996TT feels like it is surging sometimes when I drive it. What I mean is that it feels like it is picking up power not cutting out. I have never owned a all-wheel drive car prior to this and perhaps it is just the way it feels when engaging front wheels or shifting power to front - perhaps. I recently did some upgrades including new plugs, had coils inspected at this time and everything is working perfect and performing well. I just get this weird sensation when driving sometimes that i cant interpert as potential motor or ignition issues. I dont particularly like the all wheel drive. Car feels light in the front end to me as opposed to my older 74 911. Car has 19 inch rims on it, Pilot tires (which are hard and noisy) and Row suspension which is stiffer than stock of course. Maybe this is the way it is and I am being picky and need to adapt or maybe there is something that needs to be addressed. If you have a free moment and have any insight to offer I would appreciate it. apologize for spelling errors. I am a "wrench" not a english teacher :)
  2. I have seen a lot of cool floor mats in different cars recently for sale or where ever. Does anyone have a suggestion and contact for some nice floor mats for a 01 996 TT that are durabale and look stylish and made for porsche? The stock mats are taking a beating and thought I would save them for posteraity. Thanks. :thankyou:
  3. Thank you I have never seen a X50 with a "s" badge on the back before
  4. Can anyone tell me the difference between a "S" model and standard model of 996 TT?
  5. I just added the softronics to my 01 996TT. In addition I put AP DV's and Samco Hoses with F pipe and Denso spark plugs. Work with Dan (i think he is one of the owners) very helpful and professional with all questions and i think he gave me a very reasonable package deal on all items. Download was simple- install of flash was quick and performance is off the charts!!! Every aspect of motor performance is improved and car feels smoother running. Worth every penny. I was concerned about this mod but got past all anxiety of upgrades as soon as I drove car after flash. Highly reccomend Vivid and Softronics.
  6. Is there a classified section on RennList?
  7. Mike going for the install of samco hoses-dv's and plugs this weekend. I didnt see link to F-pipe install in your DYI post. can you send to me? or repost? Did you lower motor to do this job? thanks
  8. Danyol it looks as if you lowered the engine when doing plug install. is that floor jack for safety or did you actually lower motor? if so, where does the jack go on a 996TT when lowering? thanks
  9. GPT 817 I noticed on the Vivid site they have several flash's avaiable for 996TT. Which on did you go with? Have you experienced any problems since install? Any issues with codes etc? thanks
  10. Looking for some advice or tricks to install of Diverter Valves (brand to buy undecided)and new boost hoses including F-hose on 01 996 TT Saw the DIY post and will use. Should I or do I need to lower engine to install DV's and F Hose? Seems like only way to do. Any advice on doing this install at home. I have lowered engine before, taken off back bumper and feel comfortable with hose install but never touched DV's. Thinking Synchronic's or Agency Power. Not sure if i want boost to blow off and not re circulate. The BOV sounds a little ghetto- maybe not suited to Porsche. Thank you
  11. thank you. I found it in computer. Pressure is fine.
  12. I tried that, cant seem to find it. this is a stock feature on my 01? I will keep looking thank you
  13. Can anyone tell me if the on board computer shows boost pressure on my 01 996 tt? If not, how would I get the reading to see if turbo's are boosting in .09 range? thanks
  14. Thank you Barry. I embarassed to say your suggestion was the fix. appreciate it.
  15. If you lower the engine is it possible to exchange the turbo hoses and F hose without removing the rear bumper cover? I have a set of samco and in the DYI section it says this needs to be done but thinking it might not if engine is lowered? What do you think?
  16. Thanks Pierre- i saw the post you mentioned and it dosent contain any details of price for clutch
  17. Any Idea what the best and worst case scenario of cost to have clutch replaced in my 01 996TT. dont need currently just curious what future cost is going to be. car has 22k miles and i think around 30k is when I might need the work done? Sound correct? thanks
  18. Periodically i have to force my 01 996TT in to first gear. Clutch is excellent- had all Fluids just changed (trans-oil-both diff's) still sometimes i have to force in first gear or double clutch or roll car to get into first. Any Idea what might be going on and how to fix? First time posting so if i didnt include everything needed for help let me know. Steve
  19. I am having a hard time periodically putting my car in first gear. It has a EVO short shifter which was installed by old owner. Clutch is good and working with no slippage. This happens at complete stops and normally i have to "double clutch" and force it in gear. Dosent happen all the time and if I put in first at rolling stop it has no issue. Anyone have a suggestion on what is going on? thanks.
