  1. I'm sorry to hear that. I drove mine hard yesterday with Seafoam in the gas. I had someone say it could be a clogged converter also. I haven't tried it. Have you had your fuel pressure checked?

  2. I guess between the two of us we will just keep trying until we figure it out. I just hope we can!

  3. A mechanic here in my town said he believes it is the coolant temperature sensor. He said it's not so much the sensor is bad, it is the sensing range is too narrow. He says he can change the resistor in it and it should help. He said it would cost about 2 hours labor. I guess I will try this too. I am just trying not to put a fortune into it. It will probably be next month before I tr...

  4. I think he was just going to change the resister in the old one. He kept saying it wouldn't surge if the car was cold, only when it warms up. It does it as soon as

I start off even with the engine cold. Now I have only had the car since June and it is never really "cold". I wonder if it would do it at start up when the outside temp is below 90 degrees.

  5. I put in manual tiptronic yesterday, was in 3rd gear, going 23 mph, in my rpm range of 1500-2000, and it still did the surging. Would the torque converter be doing anything at that speed? I am trying to rule it in or out.

  6. Did you watch the video I put under the post about car surging at 2000 rpms? It is an Audi, but it does exactly what mine is doing.

  7. We are definitely having the same problem.

  8. is yours a 99 C2? What color?

  9. I did have an email conversation with a ZF transmission rep. He said it didn't sound like a typical transmission problem. I hate to put $2000 into changing the torque converter and it not be it. I can forward the emails from ZF if you like.

  10. Here is another thing i was told. One of the fuel injectors may be functioning incorrectly. If one is injecting too much fuel when not needed or not enough, the others may adjust to it too much or not enough. Sorta of like overcompensating.

  11. I got your information. I haven't had a chance to do it yet. If you look at my original post, the Porsche mechanic guessed that it could be a weak solenoid in the transmission. If it is working and weak then it will not trip a code or check engine light. Porsche will not work on a transmission, but will only replace it at $8500. I have a schematic of the transmission if you need m...

  12. I guess we need to figure out what is working and not working in limp mode and that will narrow it down some.

  13. I started a new post under "limp mode" to get some explanations from users.

  14. I found one online for $1000. I will find the website and get back to you.

  15. I was wondering if it would be better just to get a whole rebuilt transmission, just in case it is the valve body. I have found them from $2300 to $3500

  16. i'll keep looking

  17. I have to save. Ii don't have the funds for it now.

  18. I'll let you know. Good luck.

  19. Any word on your fix?

  20. I hope it's not as bad a we think!

  21. I had the same thought. Are you doing it yourself?
