I've installed a Dension 500 with the bluetooth 1500 in my 2005 997 4S. Everything works fine apart from the audio in phone conversations only comes out of the left channel. I'm guessing this is set up for a left hand drive car and I need it set up for right hand drive. BT streaming music from my iPhone comes out of both channels. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can anyone confirm if I can replace a CDR22 with a CDR23 in a 2000 Boxster S?
-
Does anyone know how to remove a seat airbag? I tried to pull the plastic cover off but I didnt want to pull too hard until I knew how it's held on.
-
Hi Logray
I posted the machine upto him today and he'll clear the codes and check the systems himself. Thanks for you time to confirm it would't work.
-
I don't think anyone ever read the question. Of course I know the light had to be reset with a PIWIS.
Thank you JFP you answered the question I asked which was if the 987 DME would work in a 986.
-
An airbag light can ONLY be reset with Durametric, a PST2, or PIWIS tester -- providing the fault the caused the light has been corrected.
Step 1 is read out the fault code and make sure the fault has been corrected.
Hi Loren. The airbag light was trigged because the airbag was set off during the crash and has now been replaced with a new one. I understand that the light will be triggered again if there's further faults but the question is can I reset by putting it in my 986 and clearing the code.

Anyone know if I could put a 987 DME into a 986 so I can contect it up to a PIWIS and clear the error codes?
A friend of mine has just rebuilt an accident damaged 987 and needs the airbag light cleared and He lives at he other end of the country to me.
If he sends me his 987 DME would it be possible to put it in my 986 to save me a trip?
-
It's a programable option. You'll need a pst2 or PIWIS it enable it in the alarm section.
-
I've connected the system as you described and it works however when the car is locked via Brown/White it can't be unlocked with via Brown/Red after about five minutes. It appears the alarm automatically kicks after a few minutes and stops it being unlocked via that wire. Its been mentioned in not to connect to the dashboard switch, why is that?
-
Yes mine has remote locking and alarm already but I'm hoping to bypass it.

I have a 2002 boxster and would like to replace the key with a aftermarket flip style key which also has remote lock, unlock and boot release built in. I intend to remove the transponder from the exsiting key and put it in the new one then wire the new control box into the central locking loom.
Is there any obvious reason this won't work? Has anyone done it before and got the wiring diagram?

I just got in from the garage after doing mine. The only thing I'm a bit worried about is the difference in fuel displayed. On the Boxster cluster I have just over 1/2 a tank and with the 996 cluster I've got 3/4's. I'm hoping it will sort itself out after I've filled it up. Did your's display the same levels?
-
Thanks guys, I'll get a new one on order.

Hi, Is there anyway of telling what model car a instrument cluster came from by the part number?
I want to know if 996.641.981.77.70C is going to be a suitable replacement for my 2002 Boxster S.
I've been told its off a Porsche 996 Carrera 4S 2003 but they are not sure if a convertable or not. Thanks
-
Keep in mind the rear bumper is different to accomodate the different spoiler, you might have to swap it out.
Thanks, I never spotted that.
-
Thank you for the prompt answer.
-
Hi, Would anyone know if the retractable spoiler off a 2003 facelift car fit on a 2002 pre-facelift boxster? I was planning on just replacing the painted plastic bit rather than the whole unit with the rams etc. Thanks in advance.
-
502 is likely a specific option for your country. An OPC there might know.
Check the PSM fuse and also run a Durtametric or Porsche tester to see if there are any PSM fault codes (generic scanners will not work for this).
Thank you, I found the fuse was blown.
