    since my cayman s is still under warranty (certified)and therefore dealer maintained, i would opt for the original for $180 ... if that works for you.

    any advice on the install or thoughts / words of wisdom?

  6. btw - the 902.51 part number is a 2010 map upgrade

  7. i did some reading last night - you can't have power interruption or you will toast the pcm. basically you will have to keep the car running. and you have to update from level a to b - its a firmware upgrade. may be more than i want to risk

  8. i got a number from Sunset that was not as good as i hoped. 275.70 plus 10 or 12 for shipping. i sent a reply and mentioned that the price seemed high compared to the $299 msrp. haven't heard back.

    my local dealer wants 299, but says the car must be put on the computer to comfigure the pcm. i have read the tsb, it does say that a dealer must do it to insure that it is upd...

  9. i used the usa price list on renntech and it comes up 299 - perhaps there's a difference in US vs canadian dollars

  10. i sent Sunset Imports an email to ask them the price of the update. my guess is that it should be somewhere $225 plus shipping. that is, if there normal discounts apply. i will also check my local dealer - if they have some, they may be willing to discount it - they've actually beat sunset on a few things ... the bad economy sometimes helps. i will let you know what i find out tomor...
