P0139 Ageing of Oxygen Sensor After TWC, Bank 1
P0140 Oxygen Sensor After TWC, Bank 1 – Open Circuit
P0139
Potential causes:
Implausible signal from oxygen sensor
– Oxygen sensor
P0140
Potential causes:
Open circuit in signal wire or ground wire of oxygen sensor.
Oxygen sensor heating not functioning.
– Wiring harness
– Oxygen sensor
– DME control module
Without seeing your O2 sensor voltages (before and after) it would appear that you have a wiring/connector problem at the sensor(s).
If the wiring looks and tests ok - then I would replace the O2 sensor before the cat first - clear the codes and see if the after cat O2 sensor r a code again.
Hi Loren,
Oxygen sensor on the passenger side before the CAT was just replaced with NEW one oem 1,500 miles ago (2 months ago). Wiring looks ok. Is it time to buy new one for after the CAT on the passenger side?

Help!
2000 Boxster S 70000 miles with CEL on
OBD II found the following codes: P0139 and P0140
It said the Oxygen sensor on Bank I Sensor 2 is not working.
Questions: Where is it located? What should I do?
1500 miles ago I changed oxygen sensor on passenger side before the CAT with new OEM part.
Thanks!
Jacky

Part Number and Instructions
Hello mikefocke,
Thanks for the link. I read it many times and Have a question in mind. Why the universal sensor cannot be solder?

P1115 Oxygen Sensor Heating Ahead of TWC, Bank 1 – Above Limit
I would clean and check the connector on that sensor first - then reset the CEL and see if it comes back.
If it does then replace it.
I did cleaned the o2 sensor's connector a few times. It did work for short time (a few thousond miles). Now, CEL comes back pretty quick (a few hundred miles). I guess I need to buy new one. Thanks Loren.

2000 Boxster S with 68000 miles. The car is running poor gas milesage. About 25 mpg on freeway 75 mph. I am planning to change the oxygen sensor on the passenger before the cat. Am I going to right direction? Please advise.

OBD II Pcodes
P0154 Oxygen sensor ahead of TWC, bank 2
Potential causes:
Open circuit in signal wire or ground wire
Oxygen sensor heating not functioning
Output stage in DME control module faulty
Internal resistance too high
Check:
– Wiring harness
– Oxygen sensor
– DME control module
P1119 Heating of oxygen sensor ahead of TWC, bank 2
Potential causes:
Oxygen Sensor Heating Before TWC, Bank 2
Check:
– Open Circuit
- Short Circuit
- Oxygen Sensor
If it is not the wiring then you need a new O2 sensor.
Thanks Loren. BTW....the sensor that I need to check is on driver side before the cat ( closest to engine) right?

2000 Boxster S with 60000 miles.
Got CEL. OBD II said P0154 and P1119.
Could someone please help me to check the code for me?

P1126 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation Area 1 (Cylinders 4 - 6) - Rich Threshold
Sounds like maybe the left bank O2 sensor is failing. Typically when they go bad they make the car run rich.
<--could be wrong, wait for Loren's answer.
Rodger...Could you check code P1119 for me? What does it mean? I switched the O2 sensors between bank 1 and bank 2. Guessing one of the new sensor may be defective.

I changed all (4) O2 sensors (after market) about 400 miles ago. The code was P1275 at that time.
Could that be MAF sensor?

OBD II found fault code P1126. Could someone help me what is the problem?
My car is 2000 Boxster S with near 60,000 miles.
Thanks.

The car involved front end damage 2 months ago.
After the repaired, the first try using the headlight washer, the hose that connect the headlight came loose (washer fluid flash out under the bumper). Returned the car for the fix. It worked fine at the shop, however, the hose came loose again 1 week later.
Made an appointment for the 3rd repair this week. Is there any things special things need to be done to make it work correctly?

It is weekend. Time for maintance.
Car is 2000 Boxster S with 58,500 miles.
1..... I just replaced the rear brake bad without the new vibration dampers. Car is braking fine without noise. The old dampers are little deform, not complete flat. Am I okay reusing the old one?
2..... I changed the gap size with one of the new spark plugs. (stupid act) Is it necessary to replace this one?

P0133 Aging of Oxygen Sensor Ahead of Catalytic Converter (Cylinders 1 - 3) - Below Lower Limit
P1275 Aging of Oxygen Sensor Ahead of Catalytic Converter (Cylinders 1 - 3) - Below Lower Limit
"The diagnosis of "oxygen sensor aging" helps to identify oxygen sensors that exceed emission limits because of aging.
During the diagnosis of oxygen sensor aging, the DME control module monitors the period of the sensor signal. With an old sensor, the duration of the period is too long, i.e. it is more difficult for the sensor to diffuse oxygen into the exhaust gas. Reasons for this could be frequent driving in the lower load range (city driving, short distances, etc.) or a contaminated sensor."
The OBD II manuals says "Replace the sensor"
Loren,
Which sensor do you suggest I should change? Where is it located? many thanks.

Hello,
My car is 2000 Boxster S with 58500 miles. CEL is on today (solid light, no flashing).
OBDII scanner read code P1275 and P0133.
50,000 miles ago, I had same codes. Cleared them and didn't do any repairing at that time.
Someone is suggesting to change MAF sensor instead. But the above code is pointing to 02 sensor @bank 1 sensor 1. What do you suggest to approach solving the problem? The car run okay now.

Glad to know it. Thank you very much.

2000 Boxster S org came with factory installed Xenon lights.
One of the headlight was damage and need to be replace, however, the new one seems to be have a light green tint coat on the lens or may be the light bulb itself is green. The old one is more white and clearer than the new one. Could that be different type of xenon light set out there? or mine just old after 6 years? Or buying another new xenon light bulb by itself will fix the problem?
Brand new xenon lights go through a rapid "color shift" period for the first 100 hours in which they will start to put out more white light and turn a little purple in hue. They continue to color shift after that time but it becomes very, very gradual. If they continue to be green however, you might have a defective ballast or defective bulb. I recently did a Philips HID conversion and mine first lit up green, then turned a little yellow and are finally turning more white/purple to match factory xenon lights. - Suneet
Problem solved by changing the light bulb.

I just finished replacing all 6 new spark plugs without anti-seize compound. Would that be ok?

For the bolts that look like this I am seeing 60 foot pounds.
Thank You Tool Pants. As always....enjoy reading your post and prompt respond.
-
Hello,
Does anyone know how much ft per pound does it require to install the bolts of CV joints back to tranny? Mine is 2000 Boxster S. Thank you.
-
Folks,
While the body shop is working on my 2000 Boxster S with 59,000 miles for the accident that happened last month, they found out the CV boots are bad on the driver's side and the rear brake pads are thin.
All 4 shocks had been removed already for the body repair, therefore, the CV joints are right there and only connecting with the transmission/engine at this moment.
Questions:
1) It looks pretty simple to remove the cv joints and intalled the new boots myself. I am planning to remove the 6 bolts that connection the transmission with the cv joints and put the new cv boots. Is there anything I should be aware? special tools? Please advise what to do.
2) Do I need to buy the shoes for the rear brake pads? No tracking or hard driving, 1st to change since new. 59,000 miles.
Thank you for reading.
