  1. I used the same LEDs from Custom Dynamics as the OP, but mounted them on Aluminum angle bar (3/4 inch) cut to the length of the LED strips. I painted whatever Aluminum was showing black. I mounted them on the inside of the grill using 3M tape, so that they are recessed. I already had switched power in the trunk from a Laser Diffuser. I really like how they look. The LEDs are really bright and match up with OEM lights I see on newer cars. The only thing I might change is I may bend the aluminum a bit to conform more closely with the curve of the bumper. I'm not sure it's worth the effort as it really does look good. I do have some extra aluminum, so I might experiment.

This image from my phone doesn't do it justice. These LEDs are very bright.

  2. I did mine last summer and it was my first ever DIY brake job. The only problem I had was adjusting the E-brake, which I will have done by my Indy when I go for an inspection. I bought everything from Suncoast. The dampers are more expensive than you would think, which is probably why they weren't included in the kit. Next time I would reuse them.

I want to adjust the emergency brake. What problem did you run into?

I tried the instructions found on this site for doing the adjustments at the rear wheels and I just couldn't get it right. It barely engages. There are other adjustments that can made from inside the car, under the rear center console, but I'm not sure what needs to be removed in order to get to it.

  3. I doubt the exhaust mod would be causing the problems. I would double check that the plugs are all seated properly and all of the coil connections are solid. I had a CEL after doing my plugs and I would have bet money that all of my connections were good. I went back in and sure enough, one of the coil wires came off when I tugged on it. I used the OEM Beru plugs and I see a noticable improvement after the change. The old plugs were Bosch but I can't say whether the improvement was due to the brand or just the age of the old plugs. My guess is the latter.

I have the Fister mod too, but I had it done by Fister. I love the sound and I have a Cab. I guess it depends on how faithful your local shop was to the Fister mod. Maybe you just need to get used to it. I've had mine for 2 1/2 years and I still get a kick out of them.

  4. The Plx reader can be left installed and will not drain the battery, which might be why it costs more than the others. It also is the only one (I think) that works with iOS devices. I was thinking that it might be nice to have the real-time gauges available all the time, since I have an iPod touch installed in my car.

In the meantime, I think I'll pick up one of the cheaper devices and play around with it. It's amazing that you can get them that cheap.
