Is it possible download a Porsche workshop manual?

That is the best explanation I've found as well for my '76. Hard to find since the numbers are much shorter than current numbers. But now I know the number I have recorded is too short! Need to look at my car again and write it down again!
I emailed Porsche my vin number and they emailed back the associated engine number and the original delivery specification. Nice way to make sure you own what you think you own, if you know what I mean.

Haha - I know what you mean. If any one part of the system breaks down the whole system doesnt work well. Have you checked the flapper valves in the engine bay attached to the H/E's?

Change engine oil,filter, drain the fuel tank and change filter. Check the air filter and exhaust for rodent nests. Remove spark plugs and oil the cylinder and turn engine over by hand. You need to test for power at the starter if you have a good battery installed. Thats a good starting point.
Plus one for this approach. Take your time and change all fluids and filters and turn over by hand at first to make sure everything is free.

You could always get a cooler from a 3.2 and install that, but you'd have to install everything including the thermostat...

Potenza's are good, but a little expensive. I run with Bridgestone S01's. Brilliant tyres, and good in the wet too! S02's are also good, but the S03's suck IMHO.

My 1983 SC is missing the heater sensor that screws into the hoodlining between the sunvisors. (Part # 911 659 105 01) I think. I can not find a replacement anywhere. Does anyone have any ideas. Worst case I may have to fit the early model manual levers each side of the hand brake as the heater will not operate with the sensor missing.
Are they not still available from Porsche. If not then perhaps a search for a second hand one. There are plenty of Porsche salvage breakers around. If not try the usual ebay or Stuttgart Exchange.
I would have thought a Porsche breaker would be your best bet though.....

If it were a Turbo then the first 3 numbers would be 930.
So we know the model is 911 and year is 1977. The next number is the body type (i.e. coupe, Targa, etc.) and model (i.e. 911, or 911S).
Unfortunately the body type and model changed yearly so I don't remember what those mean (even though I had a 1976 911S coupe).
Ive been looking for a simple explanation of th VIN number. Thank you.

You are at the max without some major trimming of the wheel wells and the oil line bolts on the back if the car. Best option would be to go to an r compound tire for more stick. 275's can fit on the back but the wheel offset need to be perfect and the fenders trimmed as well as the some of the suspension bolts ground down.
I have 225/45 and 255/40 with no issues on my Carrera
