  1. I was talking to a friend the other other day about serialized parts on the boxster, and he was not sure of the answer. So does anyone know if parts like the bumper covers and such are serialized to the car? I do know that at least some Fords are like that. I seem to remember the last time I had the front bumper cover off, to clean the radiators, there was another number there other than the part number.

  2. It is possible to change the inner boots without removing the whole axle. You have to drop the exhaust to get enough room though.

    My 2000 S (US, 6-spd.) has a torn left inner CV boot. Since the inner joint is held in place with six allen screws, I'm wondering if it's possible to simply unbolt the screws and swing the axle downward (pivoting on the outer joint, which already appears to have a new boot) so I can change the boot and regrease it without pulling the whole axle. The tear looks really fresh and there's no grease slung about the radius of the joint.

    Possible?

  3. The CEL came on about a week ago. Found that it set the P1119 code. Reset the computer, to see it it would come back. Drove it about 4 or 5 times, over the course of a week, and the CEL came back on yesterday with the same code. The code means Heating of oxygen sensor ahead of TWC, bank 2. So one of my O2 sensors is going bad, I guess. Should I just replace the one or go for all four?

  4. blackkatt: The bulbs that do that are the Blue Halogen bulbs with higher wattage than stock which get a lot hotter than the stock bulbs do. Even my stock bulbs did a bit of yellowing of my stock headlights and the lense, not too bad tho. The HID bulbs run cooler than a traditional halogen bulb does so it wont happen.

    I was wondering what bulbs someone was using that caused the melted/yellow look on the lens. I figured that it was some higher wattage bulb.

    So have you found yourself just driving around on low beams all the time now, or do you still use your high beams?
