  1. I have a 2011 c4s with about 16000 miles. Last week I got the "transmission emergency run" error and took it in to the dealer. The dealer

game me a nearlly identical (except for interior and sports exhaust) car for a loaner. This loaner car is much more responsive and quicker than my car. The dealer has no explanation. What could be the cause of this difference?  The accelerator on this car is a lot easier to press , as though the spring tension is lighter, than my car

    Any ideas?

     Thanks

  2. I do not see an option "BL" for 1999 series 996.

Here is the options list for that model year...

    MY1999 Model 996 Options List

Hi Loren , thanks for the info. I got that (the "bl") from the sticker . I have a list of option codes from a sheet that the dealer gave me,

but I don't see much on there that relates to leather other than 981 and 982. There are a few codes that aren't on your list, (426,429,434,912)

    Thanks again

    Mike

  3. I have a 2010 panamera turbo. According to the manual, it's possible to set the assignment of the MFS button (on the left side of the steering wheel, has a "diamond" on it, see pages 115-116, and 151 )

On my car, the menu specified by the manual is not there. The dealer says that's only for the European cars. Anyone have any experience with this?

  4. I have a 2009 Cayenne Turbo S that I'm experiencing erratic performance with, that is, sometimes the acceleration is not what it should be.

When it's doing that, I also get the impression that the engine is lugging when running at relatively low speeds (50-60 mph) in 6th gear.

If I put it in "Sport" mode it seems to be behaving normally.

When I first got the car, the dealer discovered that it had been programmed ("flashed") as a Turbo instead of a Turbo S. That was thought

to be the culprit, but the problem still seems to occur.

Anybody have any experience with this?

    thanks in advance

  5. The last couple of days, I am not getting enough sleep.

Maybe because this 997TT in my garage is connecting to my brain via an unidentified secret method Porsche has built in this car.

My 40th Anniversary 996 is gone, and a 997TT MY2008 has taken its place.

    Congratulations. Have fun.

  6. Your indicator displays psi. For sure.

    1 bar = 14.5 psi

    Regsrds

That's what I thought, so I don't have an answer as to why I can't get the 1 bar max boost and can't get it into overboost at all.

    thanks

Probably obvious, but wanted to make sure you knew to get the chrono to get overboost, you have to quickly push the accelerator all the way to the floor and you will see a small upward arrow to the right of the boost gauge. That is how you can tell the the overboost is enabled (for 10 seconds). Maybe already knew that, just making sure.

    DC

You're supposed to get the arrow in overboost. When you are in "sport" and floor the accelerator, as mentioned earlier in the thread, it's supposed to go into overboost for 10 seconds.

Arrow ????? What arrow ? Every time you enable "sport" you get an arrow on the boost level indicator???

Please explain because I ve never seen that arrow.

My boost level indicator has a scale up to 1.2 bar. (0 0.6 1.2). Usually boost is in between 0.6 and 1.2.

    Where is that arrow?????

    Thanks

  7. I have a 997 TT manual with a TechArt exhaust and average about 19l/100km mainly enthusiastic suburbia driving which seemed touch on the heavy side....

    Any feedback from otehrs?

I get about 25 mpg on the highway (9l/100km) so your consumption sounds reasonable for "in town" sporty driving

Yes, I know, I've never seen the arrow and not more than about 12 lb of boost.

    thanks

  9. I have a 997 turbo and my boost gauge indicates psi marked 0 9 18. The dealer says it is really bar, although. there is no decimal point in the 18. What should it show? I suspect I'm not getting full boost, but they're saying it's ok, based on the gauge indicating bar, rather than psi.

    thanks

  10. I have a 2007 997.1 turbo with 12.000 miles. The car is warranty until September this year. Since I got the car on May 2009, I have had the same problem with my tiptronic. Sometime during shifting from the 2 to the 3th gear only, the engine rev up without engaging the 3th gear and then it finally engage hard... really hard... I don't have this kind of problem when I drove at high rpm's or on any other gear change, only during smooth driving... Anybody had tiptronic problems like these ?

The solenoid valves had been changed by Porsche already, and the problem remains the same. Can you help me? Should I ask them to replace the complete transmision under warranty?

    Thanks,

Just for your info, Antonio, I have the 2007 turbo with 24000 miles and don't have that problem. I would pressure them to fix it.

    Good Luck

  11. Thanks. I guess I'll have to schedule a visit to the dealer to make sure there are no fault codes. Without comparing similar cars side by side, it's pretty hard to say what really is normal.

It is comforting to hear that not everyone's car is "instant on" and maybe I really don't have a problem.

    Appreciate the inputs!

I read on one of the other threads that the 997-2 has a heavier gauge alternator wire that improves cranking. You might want to look into that.

    Good luck

  12. welcome black stig. love the screen name. my buddy was actually the american stig!!!!

my 997.1 seems to crank slowly as well. runs perfect but i also wondered about this. interesting lubrication theory. never heard it before but...

again, welcome and hope you enjoy your p car as much i have.

    toby

    Thanks, guys!

I'm in "observation mode" right now but wondering if there is anything I need to do.

I've had my 08 Targa 4S for about a month and it does seem to crank slowly , also. It has a brand new battery, so guess it's normal.
