Most likely something as simple as a microswitch.
A PST2 or PIWIS will likely narrow the problem down.
Where are you located? Do you know an independent or a friendly dealer with a PST2 or PIWIS?
I am in Central OHIO. I guess I can try the local Porsche store, unless someone has a suggestion.

Can you remove the ugly front bumper extensions(the two abs plastic bumpers) without leaving a hole? If so how do I do it.
Thanks

Under what conditions?Sameer - I sent you a PM.I am getting the rear spoiler failure light. Spoler does not go up. What should I do?
Thanks

What model year car?
Standard, or aftermarket spoiler?
2001 996 turbo, total stock car, no mods, when I hit the spoiler button or drive above 70 mph. It does not go up. I get the light.
Thanks

Yes, the RMS (Rear Main Seal) is the flywheel side crankshaft seal.
Great, just 16000 miles on it. My warranty expires this December, I hope it does not fail again.

I had my 2002 996 in for an oil change and the dealer replaced the crank seal and also put on new flywheel bolts.
Is thes the RMS problem I read about just under a different name?
Thanks
David
