  1. You can get some info read outs like temps, maybe speed, etc. on the unit, but if yours is dark that won't work. Article in the latest Excellence cover the devilish things that disconnecting the battery can cause. The computer might not be detecting the control unit. Sounds like the controls don't turn the fan up or a/c on/off? Is there current at the back of the unit? If the fuses are okay I'd try disconnecting and reconnecting the unit.. Maybe disconnect and reconnect battery to see if unit shows up on the CAN.

Probly need PIWIS or PST2 to see what is happening. The module self diagnoses faults and stores them for read out. If the a/c control failed, they are not that expensive IIRC.

    Good luck.

  2. Try clearing your cookies and trying again.

I assume you are using the same browser?

    Same browser FireFox 3.6.10.

Today got 18 new posts as of 09xx this morning, but have not been on today. Is the post count way down? Your answer to me was not amongst them, Loren. I not having this problem anywhere else. :help:

Just tried again and my last post (quoted) showed up. Are unread entries supposed to be bold? None of mine is.

  4. I used Ultimate Pedals bought from manufacturer. Very high quality with quality mounting parts, which I am told is not true of some kits. Extra bit parts included. I got the version with the little rubber pads, but they come in all metal in several finishes.

The brake and clutch do not feel much different, but the dead pedal and accelerator pedal have a much better feel.

  5. I had not checked the classic parts site for a while. Much improved. Thanks. :renntech:

Great to find 1970 carb fuel pump available again (if expensive)! And the 901 shift knob.

Not sure about that nav unit. You'd think a flip up cover plate might have been included to hide at the screen. I'm visualizing my old Blaupunkt Frankfurt's size and that :censored: screen must be tiny. I think a Garmin, TomTom etc removable will be fine in my 914.

  6. I see LN engineering has an oil filter adapter so you can run regular spin on oil filters on 987s.They say its a far better set up than factory as all the oil gets filtered and none gets bypassed. And you can choose a filter that is available at shops. Anyone?

I guess is up to us to try one and post a report...

I have had one for over a year and think it is an extremely well machined piece of engineering excellence. Comes with install device. Charles, the N of LN recommended the Napa filter for its high flow. But there is a K&N and one other I cannot recall.

I also bought the magnetic drain plug.

  7. I don't know if PS tires are directional. Are there arrows showing rotational direction? If not, try swapping fronts side to side. Stock hub-centric wheels? Spacers? Correct tighteng order of lugs? Torque?

Loosen all lugs and re-tighten to spec in proper order - opposite or star of David pattern.

You should not have this problem.
