  1. doublesnaggle,

How long have you been looking for this car? Although you will pay more, have you gone to a few dealers and looked at their CPO 997's? Don't be in a hurry! It took me 6 months to find mine as i was very, very picky. Ultimately, I ended up buying one from the dealer and I know for more $ but as Mijostyn says, the CPO coverage provided piece of mind for me. Good luck in your search!

  2. Don't ask me where, but some time back I saw a really nice unit that was motorized and with the push of an inside button, the plate flipped out and up from underneath the front of the car when needed. When you didn't want to display it, you simply pushed the button and it tucked away underneath the front end. May not be optimal for a Porsche since they are already low in the front though. FWIW...

  3. I looked into the factory offered short shift kit for my 08C2S and was told there were no warranty issues. However, I talked to my local independent shop and he was told by a factory Porsche rep that the short shift kit has caused some premature wear issues. BS or not, I don't know. I also don't know what differences there are from the 08 to 09 like you have that may be different. Just passing along some info, no more. BTW, I decided to not install the short shift kit on my 08.I have heard some people rave about the shorter throw and how much they liked it.

  4. One last question guys. Since I don't like the two recommended shops for mounting and balancing that Tire Rack gave me, I called my local Porsche dealer about mounting and balancing if I supplied the tires (Super Sports from Tire Rack). Their pricing on mounting and balancing from the dealer was right at $200.00 which I thought wasn't too bad. On alignment though, other independent tire shops wanted $175.00 or so for alignment but the Porsche dealer wanted $350.00. I was all prepared to let the dealer install the new tires until I got the alignment price. Any opinions on that?

  5. Have an 08C2S with Pirelli P-Zero Rosso tires (235/35ZR19 & 305/30ZR19) N-1. 15,000 miles currently with a reasonable amount of tread but have started getting noisy as h___. One thing I like is the handling seems to be pretty good and I really like the sidewall design.

I know that this is a pretty subjective issue but looking for suggestions. Also, car still has warranty so I need to stick with the "N" rating. I think Michelin are nice but overpriced so....

    Thanks in advance.

  6. Have an 08C2S with PASM and Sport Chrono package. As mentioned in a previous post, I am contemplating adding the OEM PSE to my car. In reading my owners manual on the PSE system, it is activated by pushing my sport mode button and does not have the separate twin exhaust button. Therefore I cannot use the PSE in "normal" mode. Can someone that has a car with my features tell me if I am right or wrong (or someone knowledgeable on these options).

    Thanks in advance.
