  1. Hi all,

    reading some material around I found the following:

    1. put the vehicle on jack stands

    2. remove airbox

    3. using an hydraulic jack, raise a "platform" to sustain the engine from the bottom

    4. unscrew the engine motor mounts and remove them

    Now I should be able to slowly lower the jack (item 3 above) and the engine should drop about few inches, right?

    Here are my doubts:

    a. How would I know how much I can lower the engine without causing damage? I mean, what happens if I lower it too much? Will I break something?

    Or does it stop dropping?

    b. a part from the airbox, is there any other item I should remove (hose, pipe, electrical connectors) to avoid breaking it because of stretching while the engine is partially dropped?

  2. Hi all,

    I need an advice on how to proceed.

    I own a C2 MY05.

    I changed the battery last week and the technician told me that my alternator is running too low.

    So here are my readings of my alternator and battery:

    (The reading of the alternator is taken from the back of the alternator itself - I took the alternator out and connected a cable to the back of it and then reinstalled...)

    Running @ 1500-2000 rpm with lights on, A/C on and radio on.

    Cold engine:

    Alternator: 14,30V

    Battery: 13,80V

    After 5 minutes:

    Alternator: 14,00V

    Battery: 13,60V

    Hot engine (After 15 minutes):

    Alternator: 13,80V

    Battery: 13,30V

    Questions:

    1) is it normal to have a 0,5 volt drop from the alternator to the battery?

    2) Is it normal that the alternator drops from 14,30V to 13,80 as soon as the temperature raises up?

    Should I change the regulator perhaps?

    3) What are your readings at the battery terminals?

    Are mine readings in the average or is my alternator too low?

    4) Should I consider changing the cable from the alternator to the battery?

    My first post.

    Today I managed to remove the plenum and the resonance chamber to clean them.

    But when I was re-mounting the resonance chamber, I couldn't remember how it was originally fitted.

    Does it have a standard position, or could it be installed in any position?

    I mean, should the flap-valve be on the back or in the bottom of the resonance chamber?

    And, should the flap-valve be on the left side or on the right side?

    I noticed also that there is an arrow on the top of the resonance chamber, but I don't know where it should point to...

  4. Hi M-Maika,

    Wonderful job dismounting the cluster!!

    I have been trying to remove the front plastic cover in order to remove some dust that accumulated in the back.

    But haven't been able to.

    This is what I did:

    1. I removed the cluster

    2. Removed all the 6 small screws that are on the back.

    3. Opened the 5 clips (2 on the side and 3 on the bottom)

    4. Pushed the front cover.

    But, I only get to open 1cm. in the bottom part then it get stuck. It actually opens in the bottom part, but the top part remains steady.

    Where is the trick?

  5. I am trying to chase down the source of a periodic noise under the left side of my dash on my 06 C2s cab. I decided to just start removing things bit by bit until it goes away or I can see where the noise is coming from (it sounds like body creak, as if 2 plastic pieces are rubbing when driving over rough surfaces). Tonight I tried to remove the air vent by driver's door, and managed to get it out about half an inch, but something is holding it from coming out any further. It seems to be constrained on the left side (towards door). Any suggestions why it won't release and come out of the hole?

    What is securing it is an electrical cable.

    Remove the plastic on the door side, and you will see it.
