  1. Hi everyone, I have a C4S tiptro that covered 80Kmiles My porsche dealer keeps on telling me that the car has no leakage but when I look under it I notice a couple of oil spots, they are only sweating spots, but I guess it is not going to improve with time 1) the first visible one is at the oil pan, i guess this is easy to fix 2) second is the junction between the engine and the gearbox, the IMS sealing ring was recently changed but I still see a sweat of oil 3) The front of the tiptronic is all wet 4) The Oil Separator (AOS) is covered with oil Is this all normal? I read many comments on the net saying that Porsche oil loose oil, I would like to know if i am a maniac or I should push my dealer to fix those leakages Thanks
  2. Hi everyone, It might be of interest for those having the same issue I have a C4S tiptro MY 2006, I covered 2000 miles since I bought it, porsche approved and 1 year Porsche guaranty , the car has now 80KMiles, I have add a rattle coming from the front at every bump on the road since I got my car, there was also and a squeaking noise at low speed when I would turn the wheels only by warm weather, it wouldn't happen when it was raining I brought the car to my porsche center, they changed the antiroll bushings, the struts bearings, the stabilizer mount. This had no effect at all but still they gave me the car back...Luckily I did not have to pay for it since it is under guaranty, but still they took my car for a full week for no results. I therefore went to another porsche center, they changed the complete shock absorber as well at the control arm ( the wishbone shaped one), I did also notice that the axle nut is new, maybe they changed the bearing also, anyway the car drive like new now I believe the rattle came from the suspension and the squeaking noise from the control arm 80Kmiles for a suspension is not much, the previous owner only drove the car on the German Autobahn, is there an issue with the 997 Cheers
  3. Hi Everyone, My car is a 2006 C4S tiptronic purchased at a Porsche dealer at 75KMiles with 1 year guarantee, I have the car for 1 month, the engine is a M97.01 A couple of days after the purchase I noticed an slight oil sweat between the engine and the gearbox, it was probably there when Porsche sold it to me ( Porsche Approved by the way) My car was this week at Porsche for repairing this issue under the guarantee and they called me to say that it is just the sealing ring of the IMS that failed, I find it hard to believe that the sealing ring start to leak by itself knowing the IMS bearing issues these cars have What is your opinion, could it be just this simple sealing ring? would porsche be ignoring a potential bearing failure? do they systematically check camshaft deviation? I know that these engine required the crankcase to be opened to change the IMS bearing which would mean for Porsche a new engine since they have no time to do play around in the workshops, could they have done a quickfix to avoid changing the engine? I would like to hear your experience on the M97.01 IMS bearing, I could not find a single RMS seal or IMS bearing failure on the net, so it seems that the M97.01 was really improved over the M96.05 Apart that the car got both front Strut bearings changed (rattle in the front), the front stabilizer bushing changed ( squeaking noise), they found that the main front drive shaft t had a worn out sealing and changed the whole shaft, a lot of issues... I am getting the car back tomorrow but this IMS bearing is in my mind Looking forward to your comments Michel
