The 'bypass' mod is very popular as its really cheap and effective. The sound produced is amazing.

Just put my hardtop on ready for the winter. The first time its been on since I had the car.

Put the front in first and carefully dropped the back, lining up the pins with holes. Used the allen key and turned until it clicked once.

Looked wierd as there was a gap of around an inch all the way round, but its on tight. Is this right??

The problem I now have is that the front windows go up and down fine. The drivers side rear window seems to get jammed and eventually comes up after a few presses. Once it starts going up its fine.

Does anyone know about this problem and what I can do please??

I got mine on eBay for $400 bucks or so and had it re-sprayed as it was a different silver than my car. Wouldn't be without it in the winter, even considering the JP (jiggery pokery) for half an hour getting the window tracks to line up every autumn (fall).

They go for about £750 to £1500 (the ones I have seen anyway)

A hardtop is a good thing to have. Our winters here in the UK can be pretty harsh.

Does a better job of kepping the cold out as well.

I have a tooki bluetooth kit installed for my iphone 4.

had initial problems syncing phone book.

try this on the phone first:

Go to 'settings'

'general'

'bluetooth'

select the blue arrow next to device. in your case ' dension 500'

check and see if 'sync contacts' is on

that was my problem. If not make sure your firmware is up to date as well.

As suggested, got the wife to turn steering whilst i had look around.

The noise is coming from outside the car in the front and really only happens on start up and sharp movements of the steering wheel.

Thoughts anyone?

I have a similar issue (see thread: Squeeking sound from front wheel after 10min driving) which I am trying to deal with. When the car is standing still and you press on the front fender, can you hear the sound? Also, if you turn the steering wheel back-and-forth can you hear the sound? Mine does. I am using WD40 to spray on individual linkages on my front wheel to try to isolate the location of the sound.

Thnaks for the reply. My problem occurs when I start the car. When turning the steering quickly left and right' you can hear it. The wheel does not need to be locked. It generally happens when you are at stand still.

Will keep you posted, but just want to find out the problem and if its dangerous. Its 'bugging' the hell out of me. :censored:

Could be fuse,

Its located in footwell. On my car its the fourth row of fuses, third on in from the left which is a 30A fuse.

Have a look, could be an easy fix.

Otherwise could be mean getting it seen to by a someone that knows.

There are so many things that could be an issue, Hydraluic fluid running low, fuse blown, motor gone etc.

I take it, that the roof is up at the moment then.

Was it a hydraulic squeak or a mechanical squeak?

COuld be wrong and its outside but I am sure its inside.

Update. I have isolated the noise now. It happens when I turn the steering. It does not happen all the time.

Hi Everyone.

My first post and I am looking for your expert advice please.

I started the car this morning and reversed out of the drive. I have a 2003 Carrera 2 Cab, 51000 miles.

I engaged (D, Tiptronic) and turned the sterring wheel and heard a 'squeak'.

Seem to disappear after the car has warmed up.

Any idea what it could be? Its getting a bit annoying.
