  1. My car is an o5 CTT. I am the second owner. I had my instrument cluster replaced because the turn signal clicking sound and the door alarms were inaudible. I should have done the due diligence checks when I was given possession of the vehicle but did not. Now, almost a year later, as I cycled through the settings, I noticed that the TPMS option that I used to come across when changing the settings was now gone.

    Now I know my car does not have TPMS, but I used to see a graphic with the 4 wheels and dashes next to each wheel, for tire pressure I assume. It would not do anything but it was there. I also seem to recall that there was another menu tree that I could access prior to the replacement but can't be sure what it included.

    I am not sure if this is an issue or if I have been short changed some options now. Any ideas why I would see a TPMS graphic if I did not have TPMS in the first place? I have gone through the codes in the trunk and it does not mention TPMS as an option when it was purchased. I hope I am not losing my mind.

  2. Hello forum,

    I was tinkering around my 05 CTT the other night and removed the panel that allows access to the brake fluid reservoir and I saw this component wedged under some wiring. It wasn't plugged into anything and was just floating free. I looked around but couldn't figure out where it came from. There are a couple of detents that make me think it is keyed to be twisted into an opening somethere. Does anyone know what this is and what it does? The car runs fine. Looks like a sensor of some kind.

  3. Hi all,

    I went through this ordeal this weekend and wanted to clarify the procedure - when you remove the U shaped PCM trim, the AC control unit clips are not visible. There are two square holes on either side of the unit right beside the fan speed rocker switches. The clips are recessed inside and you will need to shine a light in there to see them. I used two small screwdrivers to push in the clips and wiggle/walk the unit out until the clips unlock. Once unlocked, the unit slides out easily. Once out, the ashtray is held in by two screws and comes out easily. Note: You will have to move the shift lever to the Drive position for ease of ashtray and AC control unit removal.

  4. Thank you both. I will try rotating the tires. As to the change in noise based on the load levels, I do not hear a change. I was driving slow this afternoon trying to gat a good idea of where this is coming from and I am starting to feel that it could be the differential. I hear the sound start up when starting to move and I feel a slight vibration in the pedals. Could low fluid levels in the front differential cause this? To describe the sound another way it is a whirring sound that starts low and increases with speed.

  5. Hope someone can shed light on this.

    I have an 05 CTT with 67K miles on it. I am hearing a noise that sounds very much like the noise that is made by off road tires on pavement. It seems to be coming from the front passenger's side. It slows down when I lift off and the pitch increases when I step on the gas. It starts as soon as the car starts moving and the pitch changes with speed. It never goes away.

    I am running Falken tires and am suspecting it is indeed just tire noise but am not sure how to narrow it down to tires. They came with the car when I bought it a couple of months ago so I have nothing to compare against. I crawled under the car yesterday to inspect the cardan shafts and bearings and they look good. Am also wondering if a wheel bearing will cause this noise. I have also read that the differential can produce sounds but not sure what it is supposed to sound like. Looking for some feedback and suggestions. Thanks.
