  1. RE: the PS2's, I agree with the squirm you are talking about, I just installed them, and took the car to the track. The first two lapping sessions out, I wanted to throw the tires away! I was coming off the OE Pilot Sports. But with an increase of tire pressure 40F, 46R (hot pressure) things started to even out a bit. They are not going to be my next set of track tires though, and wear seems to be about what is stated above 10,000R and 20,000F.
  2. I just changed to an oil/cotton filter (BMC), about 600 miles ago. About three days after installing the new air filter I went for a spirited drive through the canyons near my home, I did code a check engine light. Being quite sire that it was the new air filter, but wanting to be sure, I took the car to the dealer, who, after verifying that the code was indeed the MAF sensor, wanted to charge me $800 to replace the MAF, as well as install a new paper filter. I of course respectfully declined the opportunity for anal invasion, and just had them clear the code. Since clearing the code, it has not returned; and I have been to three track events since, so something tells me that it is not going to come back on. Initially, the oils in the K&N can be pulled into the throttle body, under hard acceleration, and accumulate on the MAF, leading to the check engine code. The code will automatically reset after a few days, or you can disconnect the battery to reset the system. Performance wise, I think that a clean paper filter will offer similar performance, just a shorter life span. If you are good with maintainance, go paper, if not the K&N will be great. Either way, enjoy your car!!! -Sean
  3. I assume that you have already sold your fabspeed mufflers?! If not I would love to take those "LOUD" things off your hands! Thanks, Sean I recently purchased an 00 C4 Cab with the Fabspeed headers and mufflers. My first impresssion was that these are LOUD. After driving with them for a week, I couldn't take it. I put the stock mufflers back on the car but left the headers. Way better!! Perhaps if one has a coupe and keeps the windows rolled up they would be OK. But not in a convertible. I literally could not play tunes in the car. Sound is a personal matter but I am very happy with my decision to take them off the car. Sure the sound is a bit closed now. I am going to try the cold air kit and see if that is better for me personally. Hope you work out your issues with the muffler. Bob <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  4. I have a 2001 996 on std suspension, and just added a set of iForged Swift 19x11 and 19x9.5. Am running Michelin PS2's 315 rear and 235 front. Acceleration is dulled a bit, but cornering grip is phenomenal!!!! Ride quality, is better than my 18" wheels, which I retained for track use. I have not encountered any rubbing, and if anything the car is more neutral in regards to over/under steer. But that is just me! As far as offset, I do not know, type is listed above, and the guys at iForged are pretty cool with customers, so they would more than likely give you their offset numbers. Tires are listed above. There should be a picture of my car on the iForged website, by the time you read this. Silver C2 Black/Polished 19" Swift wheels.
