  1. I find it amazing with all the people that want to install the speakers, that no one has written a installation of the Bose rear speaker installation. I'm no expert and I really would like to do it myself instead of letting some blockhead take a drill to my car or sell me junk that I didn't really need. I hope someone just does it and then lets us know how. I know with all the Boxster owners there are out there, some one has to have done it, and done it right. I really get the shakes thinking with one false move, I can smoke my car. Or almost as bad, having some nitwit do it.
  2. *********I'm good now. The alarm itself has a fuse inside. Everything cool.*****
  3. Thanks Adsach, right now it's in the shop. I think it's something minor  I was researching the diaghams and everyting that's srewed up is on the alarm circuit. It's been in the shop two days and they haven't called...bad sign. Maybe it means a trip to the dealer :(
  4. Thanks, I've pretty much ruled out the battery. But it's good info anyway. I thought someone would be able to give me a hand on this, but I've got the message in three different forums and zip. Anyway, a few days ago, before this happened, I found some cd's under the passengers seat and pulled them out. The car sat for a about 4-5 days and when I went to start it, I noticed the problem. Firs idea was the battery. Then I started to think about the mass of cables under the seat. I checked today to see if maybe I pulled loose a cable, but everything looks cool. Wish I could get some help on this. This is Normal - low wattage(7W?) bulbs stay on but the high wattage bulbs shut off with a relay when the engine is off My windows do not work with the key in the off position - but you are right, they should work with the engine on. MY 02S <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  5. I tried that. Something strange. I see that the headlights work, but with the engine off they are very, very dim. Also see that my windows don't work either, even with the engine on. Like I said, the car starts without problems. Could this car have a system, that shuts down everything when the battery is low and keeps enough juice to start?
  6. Went to open my 98 Boxster today and...I turned the key and noticed that the drivers door opened and that the usual noises ..Alarm beep, passenger door unlocking...were absent. Fuse right? nope, checked the fuses twice and they're fine! Problem is, I can't even open the passengers door from the inside. One very strange thing is that when I start the car, and it starts just fine, I see the door-lock switch stays lit and I can't turn it off. I can open the drivers door with key and from inside. Radio works also. Anybody knows what's up with this? Maybe a relay? loose wire? Asian flu?
  7. HP is what I want, and for the cost of the operation, if I don't get it, no use in doing it. I think just changing the muffler will get the sound improvement I want.
  8. It's a V. Just want to be sure. I know many of next years models are made the previous year. What I don't know is if it's the MODEL year used or the MANUFACTURE year used (decoder states manufacture) . By the way, no airbags. Thanks anyway..
  9. I recently purchased a 1998 Boxster here in Spain that was brought from Germany a couple of years ago. Now, when a car is introduced into the country, the registration date is the only date used on the "title". I ran the VIN thru Scouser's VIN decoder and the manufacture year shows as 1997. I don't know if the car is a 1998 model made in 1997 or I got took on this. Is there a way I can find the MODEL YEAR?
  10. Hope you guys can help me with a couple of questions. I'd like to replace my OEM muffler and also install high performance headers. I will take it to a garage to do, as I neither have time, tools, or patience. But one thing I've picked up searching around is that OEM has the smog sensors and it's something I don't observe in the catalogs on the new ones. And also see that people have had problems after the upgrade. So, is it a lot of trouble and is it worth it? Thanks..
