Woo-hooo.....a million thanks. (P.S. Also got the same info from another forum but you have pics of the actual THING). :)

My 99 doesnt have any J's. There are two versions of the recepticle. I have the older twist lock style. Maybe the new screw style has J's. All mine has are the C's.
Thanks for your reply. A member in another forum said that the "J" part was with his manuals when he took delivery of his car. It serves to protect the area surrounding the hole from scuffs/scratches.

Is there an insert/tab in the hole where the pins go into (pls see below pic from the owner's manual, its part J).
Would appreciate it if you can pull the part # for it. I thought below were the part #s but online sellers are stumped. TIA for any help.
PART#27: 996 563 509 00: support for lining LEFT
PART#27: 996 563 510 00: support for lining RIGHT

bought my car with 19s already on them...happy with how they look but the ride is a tad stiff (although I have zero experience with 18s). I also do NOT know what brand my rims are :(

Watch for leaks, listen for sounds/noises...if you get enough clues/warning signs, then replace. Or for peace of mind, replace now as a preventive measure (some have reported their WP crapping out with little to no warnings and the resulting repair bill was not cheap).
P.S. This is actually NOT a new issue per se (loren posted this DIY back in 2007): http://www.renntech....mp-replacement/

my 2 cents: return to the installer and have them talk directly to AutoTop. I know you're anticipating/predicting the installer's reaction but much easier to ASK first vs. tackling a DIY to fix their mistake. The possibility still exists that they could own up to their mistake and fix it. Best of luck.
